The Cubs need a bullpen shakeup:

Send down: Russell, Berg and Schlitter.

Call up: Jay Jackson, Scott Maine and David Cales.

I don't know if they will do better but, they can't do worse.

Anyone else rooting for the Cubs to do horribly to try to get a top 5 draft pick next year?

we suck. houston is 0.5 games ahead of us. and if we played pittsburgh ten more times in a row, we'd be tied with the pirates for last. we suck.

Fuckin call up better players.... Coleman was never ready. Berg throws beach balls. Schlitter only throws fastballs. Russell throws breaking pitches right over the plate. The Cubs have better player in the minors, why don't they use them?

Coleman was doing pretty damn well in AAA, that's why.

He was doing OK. He throws the ball for strikes which is good, but is not a fast thrower. He has a 4.07 era which is OK, not great.

Wrong. That is great, for a 23 year old, in the PCL. His 4.07 ERA ranks for 12th best in the whole league. He doesn't need to be a fast thrower, to be a good starter.

He better not take the start for Silva. Cubs fans will be in for another rough game. I only see him as a RP, middle relief in the majors. Or a 5th starter.

That's fine that you see him that way. But he has a very good shot at being a nice 4 or 5 starter for us for a few years at very cheap.

Maybe, but it looks like Jackon, Cashner and maybe Diamond could be ahead of him. And, the Cubs still have Z, Wells and Dempster. Forget about Silva.

Ehh, Diamond is already 27, I don't look for a whole lot out of him. Jackson has been struggling lately, it could be the transition to AAA, so I don't see him ready till 2012. Which, all things considered, is pretty good.
