Haha, today is all bass-ackwards. Usually our starting pitching looks good and it's the bullpen that screws everything up and today is just the opposite. Go figure.

how's this for a solution? cubs fans donate 10 bucks to charity and for each run that grablow gives up, each donating fan gets to punch him in the stomach until he dies or retires, which ever comes first. because between all of us, i'm pretty sure we could cure cancer.

I don't think it would have mattered today. They need to find a way to get Colvin in the line up more. Kind of interesting that the relievers went 8 innings (counting Russell in the first) without giving up a run and Grabow gives up a two run homer in the 9th. They need to just eat his contract. He is to terrible to try and keep.

I know Randy Weels lost the game but I have 3 questions I want Pinella to answer.

1) Why was Ramirez in 4 hole? He can't hit with RISP and should be 7 or 8 hole.
2) Why was Soriano not in 6 hole? He is htiing close to 400 in that hole but when he hits any where else, he is hitting in the 200's. Byrd should be in 5 hole of 4 hole not 6ht.
3) Why was Castro not in 2 hole? The Cubs are 8-0 when he is in the 2 hole.

I know the Cubs probably still would't win but what if they were close and that inning wasn't like that. That makes like no sense to me.

we have alot of guys in slumps right now: Castro, Byrd, Fukudome, Aramis, and Soto, if one or two of these guys could come out of it, we could go on a nice little tear the way our starting pitching has been going (aside from yesterday). Castro and Byrd seem to be hitting the ball hard, just right at people, so they should start getting their hits, but we really need soto to come out of it....he was so patient early on and now he cant seem to get on base, idk what is going on.

Yeah Soto was impressive the first month with waiting for his pitch now all of a sudden he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat and is swinging at bad pitches. We all knew Castro couldn't keep up what he was doing. It's only a matter of time before he starts getting on base again. Byrd I think just needs a day off to work with Rudy and he will be back on track. Fukudome looks like he is going into his can't hit shit after April slump, and Aramis, well...
