The Chicago Wolves will stay in the American Hockey League’s West Division after the 30-team league re-aligned its two-conference, four-division format for the 2010-11 season.

The Wolves will compete against one new rival in the eight-team West Division - the Oklahoma City Barons - and six traditional foes: the Houston Aeros, Milwaukee Admirals, Peoria Rivermen, Rockford IceHogs, San Antonio Rampage and Texas Stars.

The Western Conference also features seven rivals from the North Division: the Abbotsford Heat, Grand Rapids Griffins, Hamilton Bulldogs, Lake Erie Monsters, Manitoba Moose, Rochester Americans and Toronto Marlies.

The 2010-11 AHL regular-season schedule and the format for the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs, will be released later this summer. For information on tickets or group outings, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES or visit chicagowolves.com.

Because they play in Chicago, and won over the hearts of many local hockey fans when they were great 4-8 years ago and the Hawks weren't... Also even before that weren't affiliated with the Atlanta Thrashers. Some were even following the Wolves as IHL fans.

OR so we can follow the players Stan Bowman will trade for.

You can be a fan of an AHL team regardless of their affiliate. They don't only exists as a minor league team connected to the Thrashers, it's apart of them but not all that the Chicago Wolves are. Unless you meant they aren't a Chicago team because they're in Rosemont, but that's not what I thought you were saying.

Although if that you feel that is the only way it can be, there ought to be a Toledo Walleye thread.

To the Cheli comment. Years ago he said he wants to play until he is 50. He looks like he is really pushing for that 50 still no matter where it is at.

yeah icehogs>>>>>wolves.

seriously dont understand why this is a thread in the chicago blackhawks forum. the wolves have nothing to do with the blackhawks.

if this thread even deserves to be a thread it should be in the all sports forum.
