And lucked out lightning pick ended up better than expected and were very close to getting another first with the Kane trade but rangers fizzled outThis is one of the best drafts. Many of the bottom feeders (like us) traded for multiple first round picks from teams established and competing for cups.
Not many opportunities to move up though.
Only a rare handful of picks play right after being drafted, and few of them are good at the NHL level. If it's such a great draft why wouldn't teams that made the playoffs value their own first round picks more? I understand there are conditions placed on picks, but you'd assume a younger cost controlled player would be better than an aging, expensive veteran.
Thank you for the knowledge, sir.Only a rare handful of picks play right after being drafted, and few of them are good at the NHL level.
A lot of cup competitors want proven NHL talent, and will push off a late 1st, even in a deep draft, to get someone to fill a role... Like Hagel to Tampa.
Just like Trotz said, they'll let Wood develop, and he's a mid-1st. Chances are pick 19 will spend at least a year developing.
It’s Bedard day you dorkchops
No problem ?Thank you for the knowledge, sir.

If I was a betting man, one of Nazar or Moore might get shifted to Wing.
I read that the Hawks were interested in trading up for Moore. To get him at 19 is fortunate. All the defensemen that were selected helped push him down.Hawks catching some breaks....first getting #1....then they were able to grab a kid that was ranked by many close to the Top Ten, at #19.
Good for them.
Good that KD isn't trying to be the smartest guy in the room.
