Not when on alert. He is worked up most of the time. Cop dogs are cops. He will kick your ass. He's one of those Belgian bad mofos.

My 12 year old Australian Cattle Dog beside my Bears door mat. Anybody that knows me in real life knows that Scooby means even more to me than the Bears, which is really saying something. Prior to Scooby I had another Australian Cattle Dog for 10 years before cancer. And no, he is not a hunchback, it is the way he is standing on the stairs, and his ears are usually up, except after we go for a long walk.

Australian Cattle Dogs are generally quite husky, you can look at pictures of them. They come in red and blue, he is a red one. He is a tad overweight, but keep in mind he is 12 (life expectancy of ACDs is 10-14), and he don't run around as much as he used to, and certainly loves to eat and is quite healthy. They are very strong dogs and naturally herd cattle. By the way, I am just as loyal to him as I have a reputation of being loyal to Urlacher, Lovie Smith, Lance Briggs, Peanut, etc. so don't make fun of him.

I always had the attitude that if a dog is old and probably only has a few years left at most, let him eat, let him enjoy his last years. Obviously not to the point where the food kills him but you get the point lol. I always sneak my dog food

Yes, I am loyal to HHM, that was included in the etc. part of the post, but you are correct, I really screwed that up. I assume that our pal cannot view The Bar at this time, but either way HHM, my deepest apology for that horrible omission on my part.

Malanois?

Edit> Sorry, I don't think I know what you're talking about

The Eastern Europeans (Romania etc) have a government breeding program. They breed GSD types for aggression. They use those dogs on the border patrol..They look like GSD's, but arent papered etc. They are bred for their aggressive temperment. I have a friend that can get me one..Id like to try one if I ever get a dog again

Yeah they do...Same with cop dogs..But my cousin says that after the dogs graduate and get on the street, the first few bites they get on skin, the dogs are tentative cause theyre so used to the padding they get in training..It take 4-5 bites for em to get the hang of it.

CPD uses "LEAVE!!"

CPD uses "OUT".

The first couple bites don't really matter because the giant ass dog tackles your ass from behind ;)

Grim...Youre right..They must have changed..I just saw a video on youtube, and the cop uses OUT

OK..I called my cousin to get the scoop

He says...In the old days when he went thru K9 school, the program was run by Sgt Berger. He had his own training methods and they used donated dogs that citizens couldnt keep because they were too aggressive etc. Berger used the word "Leave". However, Berger retired and the new guy now running the school buys dogs cause the donations from citizens were bringing in shitty dogs..The new bought dogs have already started some training with the term "out"..Thats why they use "out" now , instead of "leave"

My beagle Zach who died in October of 2013. He was 13 almost 14. This dog would eat everything. We had to keep the garbage locked in another room cause he'd knock over the garbage can. The other dog in the picture is my dog Scout. Half shi tzu/half beagle. She's like 6 I think
Yessss!!!! Beagles!!!!! I have one now, Max. My other beagle, Spike, also died back in 2011.. I had him for 13 years.

I miss him sometimes. Nothing is more "American" or honorable than a boy and his dog. I got my pickup truck at 16 and me and Spike would ride round town on Saturday afernoon all the time.. Such great memories. Every boy deserves to grow up with a dog.

My dog, Max, is part beagle/basset..Atleast that's what I think. My "bros" think he has some pitbull in him. IDK. When we got him they found him cowering and crying in thorn bushes with his throat ripped open. Apparently from what the shelter gathered, some neighbors had enough of a little beagle puppy sitting outisde year round with no food and water; chained to a fence. Somehow, miracuously, he managed to get away and ended up with bite marks and was noted to have had a pitbull nearly rip him to shreds.

In truth a friend of mine works over in the area where they found Max and knows of a few dog fighting rings. Apparently little, timid beagles like mine are perfect for "bait dogs". Meaning the pit bulls learn how to bite corretly with my dog. That's the true story of what everyone thinks now. How terrifed he was of some other people and of bigger dogs.. Oh, and you can't throw a blanket on him.. He tweaks out and starts crying uncontrolably. He was a bait dog for pittbull rings.. pisses me off still. Such a nice dog.

But sooooooooooooooooooooooo clingy. Like when we leave the house he cries nonstop for hours.

My buddy, Max!!
