The problem is you're completely lacking context.
The Rams don't allow you to throw deep on them.
The announcers have been saying this the entire game.
The Bears have been taking what the Rams give them and if not for some really bad secondary play and a really stupid mistake on the first series by Dalton, the Bears would absolutely be in this one.
No one is saying Dalton is an excellent quarterback or even the future, but when we get to the point where we have to figure out why the Bears lost, the secondary gets top billing. Dalton has been keeping plays alive and is doing exactly what is being asked of him...

Rams are a contender. Bears are rebuilding even though Pace won’t admit it. Rams are gonna put points up on everybody. From what I’ve seen the offense looks much better under Dalton than it ever did under Mitch or Nick.
