I know the talent isn’t there but these defensive plays are kinda ass too. I could see the D still being an issue even when we get decent guys

Lions offense did a good job grinding but they look like a "one sack or penalty and the drives over" kind of unit.

I'm seeing more of a call issue than a talent issue. Going soft prevent on 3rd&X lets them extend drives.

Even with talent if a team can stay patient and dink and dunk they will move the ball on this defense. It is designed to eliminate explosive plays and count on the offense to make a mistake or get impatient. It works a lot of the time but when the other team stays crisp it can look really bad. (See first half of cardinals vs bears in 06, Super Bowl defense had Matt Leinart looking like Joe Montana).
