Different players, different coaches, different front offices. Take off your superstitious lens and try looking at it objectively.
I'll wait until FA and the draft now.

No one is learning anything of use between now and the end of the season.

Objectively you better fucking hope that Poles and the FO have a worldy next offseason.

He’s dumb enough to think winning this game would break the cycle of mediocrity LMFAO
No, that's a false equivalency on you, and nothing to do with me.

You are shit at trolling and someone your age should know better tbh.

Sigh.....you're doing the strawman again. Manning OR Aaron Donald have nothing to do with this.

Again.......

Read it again.

You are dense. You said it doesnt matter where we draft if the scouting department is good. This is factually incorrect. There are blue chip players that are available before we pick so it does matter where we draft.

It is stupid to pretend you can just find a player equivalent to Donald later in draft easily.

Looks like you’re just bitching to bitch then.

What a shock.
No, I've made valid points, you've so far, made a false equivalency about my claim, you were personal, you insinuated and all the while outing yourself.

Mate, take the afternoon off.

I never said anything of the sort though, I said that the 1st round pick had better be generational - I didn't mention anything else.

Good luck though with all those picks ...

You actually said they had better get generational talent with the 1st round pick they land not whatever 1st round pick they trade for.

If generational talent was that easy to get anywhere in the first we should've been doing that all along.

I didn't talk about anything else after that statement.

You carry on though.

It’s strange that some of you seem to think the Bears will do better with the #2 pick than they did with the #3 pick, #7 pick, #8 pick, #14 pick, etc.

I have little faith in Poles but he is a new GM. I only condemn him for his actions (or lack of) not the actions of previous GMs.

And a win today would've made that all better?

No one was learning anything of use this whole season because Poles did nothing to help the one player we hope to have. He didn't even do a damn thing to be able to tell if that is the one player we can build around.
But you may be in luck and he's been tanking for a generational talent at QB. Just hope he hits it right if he is.

So they put Fields out there, but to lose the game?

What's the point of him being out there then?

The % of posters on this site are thick as pig shit. That is my conclusion from today.

You're already screwed, if the scouting dept. ONLY has ONE guy in mind. That shows incompetence.
It's called backup plan.

Again ......
If our scouting dept. does their job
.....it shouldn't matter where we draft ( we'll get the right guy regardless).
And all things equal..... that guy will CONTRIBUTE.

No you're being disingenuous as well as, slipping back into your usual ad hominem mode since I refuse to participant in your created strawman narrative/ game about " Manning OR Aaron Donald". Sorry, we're not going to 'detour off into your strawman land of Manning OR Aaron Donald'.

Our scouting dept. is tasked with finding the best players ( i.e. "diamonds in the rough") regardless of draft position. That's their job. TRUTH.

Or else what? What would have winning today done practically? Make you feel warm and fuzzy inside? Whether or not they hit on the pick or not having a higher draft pick is always better when your team sucks. They’re not competing for shit.

Why are you even here then?

LOL

You're hoping to lose, to earn the chance hand in a raffle ticket to then have to wait x amount of seasons to see if it was worth it ...

It most certainly matters where we draft as there is no diamond in the rought that makes up for Donald getting drafted before we pick.

Do you understand what I mean by not competing for shit? They ain’t making playoffs… you need to make playoffs to win superbowls which is the whole goal… not hollow victories.

Hollow victories ...

Right.

Zero point to Fields being out there then - on that line of thought.

I personally wouldn’t have put fields out there to begin with.

And what else would you call a win against a superior opponent late in the season when you’re already out of the playoff picture.

It’s the picture perfect definition of a hollow meaningless feel good win.

Well, they didn't win.

People got what they wanted heading into a bye week.

The second half of the game was 25 - 3 ....

That's a bad beat. At some point you have to start trying to win games of football.
