Don't think so. Lance has the superior coaching, superior line, superior all around team and he's not done shit for them. Any perceived better scrambler thing seems to discount the quality of the 2 offensive lines in front of the 2 rookies being talked about. You just watched a top DT beat the Bears line badly in the final stages so that's what's on your mind right now as you try to proclaim Lance the better scrambler. You want to blame Fields more and the poor play of the o-line less but a DT shouldn't be able to get by a double team that easily and quickly. Defenders will make good plays. O-lines will perform better or worse. It all matters to the QB being forced to scramble. No, he ain't no Kyler Murray at this point but neither is Lance.

Fields leads the entire NFL by a wide margin in sacks that take longer than 4.5 seconds. Think he has double everyone else except for maybe Wilson. That is more than enough time to throw the ball away or run for positive yards and has nothing to do with coaching or the OL.

Once you are outside the pocket and running around for over 4.5 seconds, it stops being the coach or OL's fault that you didnt throw it away or run for positive yards.

The frustrating thing is how easy a fix this is. We probably win today if he hits ARob deep as he is a liability scrambling when it should be a strength.
The designed run? Per his PC that’s what that was..
Lol Fields said the play wasnt designed to go to ARob which is a meaningless statement unless you think QBs are not responsible for progressing thru reads.

I feel like this is Trubisky apologists all over again. Whether it was supposed to go to ARob or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is ARob was open, Fields should have seen it and made the play.

And I was on the Fields bandwagon before any of you and predicted the Giants trade. Meatball Bears fans have the same MO. Anytime someone doesnt make excuses for their favored QB they always act like someone is hating.

I am evaluating what I see. Fields needs to do better. He is leaving too many plays on the field with that ARob play and his indecisiveness scrambling. The silver lining is these are easily fixable. He just needs to pull his head outta of his ass and use the gifts God gave him.
it was a designed run

He said it was a naked play. He did not say it was a designed run. He said his eyes arent supposed to go there which implies he is throwing as otherwise he would simply have said it was a run.

He also quite clearly said he needs to play better. He is supposed to be a guy that makes things happen when things break down. He is not doing enough of that.

Hahaha. You can thank the Cleveland game for that and don't stat-heads love those next Gen stats that are so easily swayed by that 1 game? Justin's first game at that and a game Garrett was seemingly given a free pass by the Bears o-line. This is also where stat-heads pretend 4.5 seconds is much longer than it is. yeah you could throw balls away constantly but you ain't getting anywhere like that either.

Contrary to meatballish opinions, it only becomes more difficult for the QB when forced to run outside the pocket. Unless they find little to no defense in pursuit, not happening w/Bears line, they have half or even two-thirds of the field taken away which severely limits their target options.

You must not have watched the Raiders game where he got injured doing the exact same dumb shit or this game where he had another 2 sacks where he is lolly gagging and letting the DL catch him.

No it doesnt become difficult. Throw the fucking ball away and move on or turn upfield and get yards. It is criminal that he keeps letting the DL catch him instead of turning upfield or simply throwing the ball away.

He is getting sacked because he is moving horizontally too much and being indecisive.

Lolly gagging? Clark slapped Whitehair quickly out of the way on the 1 big sack and then he spun right off the double team when Whitehair was given help. This just in, hard to step up when the pressure is coming right up the middle. What are you watching cause I think you miss a lot.

No one said anything about stepping up. He is running too laterally to the edge as he is looking to still throw. He has to give up on that shit and turn upfield the minute he escapes the pocket.

On both those Clark plays if he had turned upfield once he is outside he escapes Clark. Clark caught him because he is running parallel to the LoS.

So you want the 1 look and go everybody else frowns upon? When multiple defenders are breaking through, harder said than done anyway. On that last Clark sack, he was able to cut him off as he was evading defenders from the edge. The playcalling doesn't help either as he often is left without any shorter outlet. That last play had nobody underneath when it would not only have provided an easy outlet but help get in good fg position since GB guarding the sticks and needed 2 scores anyway.

If he comes to the end of his drop and hasn't thrown the ball then yes get outside the pocket and take what you can get. The OL sucks and the WRs struggle with separation. This is a case where you deal with the reality where taking off is your best play rather than the ideal of hanging in there when it is clear WRs are not going to get open. The NFL is played in real life and real life doesn't always afford you the opportunity to go by the book.

You want him to be a finished product like Kyle Murray is now but even Murray took a lot more than 4 games to get there. You also spend too much time lifting responsibility off of Nagy who does the rookie no favors.

Blame the rook when everything is as it should be for the most part and the play design and game planning makes an iota of sense. Til then, he'll need time to figure it out on his own. Nobody has been more critical of past Bears' QBs than me, but the fact you admit WRs aren't doing their job and the o-line simply sucks, just leaves us to believe you don't understand football is a team sport and not just the QB vs every other NFL team.

The NFL doesnt care he is a rookie. The OL and WRs sucking dont stop him from throwing it away or getting a couple yards and sliding.

Yall going to keep blaming the OL right up until he holds the ball too long and gets his ass injured long term like he almost did against the Raiders.

His No 1 job out there is to protect himself and he is not doing that with his wishy washy decision making. Someone is going to knock his lights out soon if he keeps playing like this.

You ain't generating anymore offense by throwing the ball away and sliding.

Part of maturity in the NFL is learning when to bail on a play and living to fight another day.

You ain't generating offense if you out 8-12 months due to an ACL injury because you out there trying to do too much.

Yeah, but surviving doesn't equate to putting more points on the board right now. He wants to make plays. He wants to win. Getting little to no help.
