Hill's great defense just allowed a runner to advance to 2nd without a throw. Well actually, there was a throw, Hill threw it the wrong way.

Why does Koyie have to make me eat my words all the time? I stand up for him saying his a great defensive catcher and he throws the ball the wrong way? Now granted, I'm working on a Genetics paper that is making my brain hurt so bad, but judging from what you've said, it's pretty bad, haha.

There's no need to defend him.

Problem solved.

He didn't actually throw it the wrong way. He went to grab it out if his glove and lost hold of it. It sorta fell behind him.

When he pulled his arm back to load up, he let go. He threw it backwards on accident.

Call it what you want, but that was pretty bad.

Yeah, pretty much, haha.

Oh. Well I mean it's not as bad as you made it seem. He just bobbled it. Fonzie does that all the time, haha.

Not bobbling, he never caught it again, it went to the backstop wall.

Barney may be the starter in place of DeWitt. DeWitt may not even make the team. Right now, he has but Q said players are catching up to him who could take his spot.

Well, I just got back from Arizona this evening & let me say, it's fucking cold there. I saw the D-Backs/Rockies new spring training complex this morning on the way to the airport. It is pretty slick. I almost got to go to the Cubs game on Monday, but it was freezing and it was raining, so we didn't go. Still... it's fucking cold!

I don't know if this was posted or not already, but...

The Cubs optioned pitchers Justin Berg and Scott Maine to Triple A Iowa. Also, they sent Angel Guzman and Toff Wellnymer to minor league camp.

More cuts today. For position players.

Also, the 5th spot on the rotation will be announced on Sunday after Cash pitches on Sat.

So that leaves us with 15 pitchers for 12 spots.

Dempster, Garza, Zambrano, Wells, Marmol, Marshall and Wood I would say are locks.

So that leaves Silva, Cashner, Coleman, Grabow, Mateo, Russell, Samardzija, and Stevens for the final 5 spots.

Were Reed Johnson and Scott Moore cut? I don't see them on the active roster. If that's so its just down to cutting two of the three catchers.

Reed Johnson will likely be the Cubs 5th OF, so he has not been cut. Scott Moore is fighting with DeWitt and Scales for the last bench spot.

My locks as pitchers are.. Demp, Garza, Z, Wells, Marmol, Marshall, Wood, Samardzija, Russell, and Cashner.

So.. that leaves Silva, Coleman, Mateo and Stevens for the final 2 spots.

We can probably take Stevens out because I doubt he makes the team. Right now, I think Silva will start the season in the rotation and that puts Cash in the pen. That then leaves Mateo and Coleman with the final 2 spots. I think the Cubs would like Coleman to start in Triple A and that leaves Mateo with the final spot. But if Cash has a good game on Sat, that may push Cash in the rotation and Silva to the DL. In that case, Coleman and Mateo would both make the bullpen out of ST.

DeWitt made final bench spot, not including the back-up catcher spot.

The Cubs cut Moore, Scales and Camp.

Only the 2 catchers cuts awaiting. I actually like it because their giving a good look and Castillo and Ramirez. Maybe Hill will actually be gone. This is how I would like to see it:

Koyie Hill: Release
Max Ramirez: Back-up catcher
Welington Castillo: Start in Triple A. Get him some regular playing time.
