I like T. Sweat but his role is essentially what Billings does. Not much of a pass rusher. We need a pass rushing IDL.

They need both realistically. The Bears started taking Gervon off the field on run downs last year and he now has to play 80%? of snaps since they didnt really replace Jones.

And people still be saying “we had the top 5 defense last year in the final games so we are good” but don’t realize Jones was a big part of that. Sweat is really good. But Jones made him even better. Even Dexter to spell Jones helped because it was a good rotation. But now it’s just Dexter. Billings is there but not the same as Dexter or Jones.
But I will say you can’t go wrong with these two options. You just have to have these 2 at all times.
You either need one good edge and one good DT on your D-line and the other two spots average. Or 2 good edges and average DT and NT. They both can be had and made to work.

Pickens was not a good run defender and like I mentioned Billings is the only competent run defending DT.
