That... and I wonder if the Orioles would have the kind of cash it would require to extend Greinke.

The article suggested that the O's may have the green light to spend to not only acquire talent but to retain it. But who knows, they might not have what the Brewers want anyway.

They have what it would take but question is will they give it up. i love how prospects are untouchable, while stud MLB SP can go in trades lol

It's hard to believe that the Orioles have much cash right now. They haven't been that strong of a draw... and Washington has cut out a big chunk of their broadcasting revenue. They already have big money on Markakis and Jones. Weiters is about to hit his first year of arbitration... and is going to cost a ton. If Davis continues to have the season he has... he too will get a big time raise in his first arb year this winter.

They'll also have Roberts coming off the books. So, maybe.
