Dreger: Players voted yesterday to give Don Fehr full authority to decide on Disclaimer last night. Obviously, D.Fehr decided against it.

Guessing today's meetings didn't go so great... or they are trying to gain a final upper hand for a bit of a push for a slightly better deal.

Worth a read, this fucking sucks, though obvious. The one key part is Fehr wanting to make a deal "after the season is cancelled", though I think that governor might be skewing things.

Interesting that the mediator was brought back in after no progress reported the last time they were involved. Hard to get a read on this thing. The good news is that there are only about 7 days left until we all know what is going on for sure.

More good news is the lack of knowledge of what really went on today besides the mediation, could be that there is nothing to report, but typically a lack of news has been good news during this lockout (if only there was more of it).

Kypreos (Sportsnet): Source "tentative deal could be done within 24 hrs or #NHLPA could serve #NHL notice to disclaim early as 2day. Present meeting is huge.
Strang (ESPN): #CBA If mediator waits to bring two sides back together once they're close, then the fact that the NHL and NHLPA are meeting is a good sign
