Personally, I would see if there was the ability to trade back a little. If not, I would not reach. I would take the best DT or DE on the board at that time and hope to address LT in the 2nd. Somewhere, they need to address LT but they also need a DE and DT.

That's the problem as a 5 win team. There are loads of holes and team really lacks depth across all positions, especially on the OL unless you really trust Bates who is loaded with arthritis, Kiran, and Bill Murray.
I agree, the Bears have to come out of the first two round of the draft with a good LT prospect. If the Bears can't get that LT in round one, I would take BPA and just move on from there.

Not that the Bears don't need depth, but right now they don't even have 22 NFL caliber starters. Let's get that taken care of first.

I didn't leave them out, I pointed out that also have taken other positions that people deem non worthy of 1st round picks
Branch was a mid 2nd rounder. Jack Campbell hasn’t worked out.

The Lions already had the best OL in the division and needed more help on D. The LB pick was stupid as hell. The Bears still need work on the OL and DL. The Lions offense would not have been what it was without their very solid OL. I want trenches in 2 of their 3 top picks and the order does not matter to me. I do not want RB or TE at #10.
You.Dont.Know.If.The.DL.&.OL.Is.Good.Yet

They have 5, literally FIVE new starters in total in the trenches. The problem is that everyone thinks they are an expert and therfore they are assuming that Dayo and Jackson in particular aren't good enough.

The OL and DL might be great with new players and new coaches. Why must we absolutely draft more trenches with the top 2 or 3 picks?

How about we acknowledge that they have invested in the trenches already more than in generations this free agency, allow for the possibility that things will be much better and let the GM find more playmakers for a team that barely has any stars and absolutely no superstars on the roster.

It's silly to say DON'T draft any trenches players, which I'm not saying. But the Bears can literally draft any position they want early in the draft (outside of QB/Kicker) and it will make sense IF they believe they are getting a playmaker or upgrading a position of weakness.

Just pointing out that they built out from the trenches first.
The Bears have as well. Wright, Jones, Jackson, Thuney, Dalman, Sweat, Dayo, Dexter, Jarrett

That's a really solid group with potential for a lot of improvement

Got it. I thought either Branch or LaPorta were late first but Laporta was #34 and Branch #45.
