You know how you get better? Draft better players at positions of high importance and high impact. The Bears have constantly been one of the most injured offensive line units no matter what they do. Doesn't matter the players no matter the coaches. So they need to add depth in the second round there. They also to upgrade the talent and youth at defensive tackle because Billings is 30 and Jarrett is 32. If you don't have depth and talent at DT you don't have a defense.

Clearly you're young opinionated and don't know football.
Im old enough to know that the Bears haven't invested in the offensive line since the 80s.

They just invested a ton into the interior Oline and they have 3 young recently drafted tackles and two of them have been at least average NFL starters.

The best team in the division has spent high picks on offball linebacker, safety, and running back in the last 3 years... They understand that they needed talent all over the roster so they didn't let popular theories about position value deter them from grabbing playmakers at positions of need.

Being locked in with tunnel vision on one aspect of team building such as "trenches, trenches, trenches", just leaves you with blindspots and holes that could have been avoided.

Having great depth on the football team is like having the #1 farm system in baseball but only one or two allstars on the daily roster. That's not going to be what wins championships.

Can he play LT because we really need one of them. Our current TE is far more serviceable than our current LT. We need an impact player on the DL more than we need another TE at this time. I have to admit though that I did not know Warren was a punter too.
I think the top two OTs Campbell and Membou will be off the board by #10, after that it is Banks and Conerly who are probably reaches at 10. Do you reach or look to day two for that LT?

Well, to be fair you did leave out the first three players that team brought in OT Penei Sewell, and DT Levi Onwuzurike. in 2021 and DE Aidan Hutchinson in 2022. Trenches, building from front to back.

And how does that have anything to do with what you replied to?
  • Aren't most rookie third round prospects considered a project to be developed? - Mahogany is not a rookie anymore, so he doesn't apply to this statement. As a rookie, he was the very definition of a project to be developed.
  • How many third-round trench players actually hit the ground running and offer serious competition to veteran starting in front of them? - Mahogany didn't hit the ground running or challenge the starter as a rookie.
Wild that this needs to be explained to you.
sctually he did challenge Glasgow, not at all surprising I have to explain that to you

The Lions already had the best OL in the division and needed more help on D. The LB pick was stupid as hell. The Bears still need work on the OL and DL. The Lions offense would not have been what it was without their very solid OL. I want trenches in 2 of their 3 top picks and the order does not matter to me. I do not want RB or TE at #10.

if you're going to reach a bit, Zabel or Simmons would be better choices

Personally, I would see if there was the ability to trade back a little. If not, I would not reach. I would take the best DT or DE on the board at that time and hope to address LT in the 2nd. Somewhere, they need to address LT but they also need a DE and DT.

That's the problem as a 5 win team. There are loads of holes and team really lacks depth across all positions, especially on the OL unless you really trust Bates who is loaded with arthritis, Kiran, and Bill Murray.

I didn't leave them out, I pointed out that also have taken other positions that people deem non worthy of 1st round picks

I agree, the Bears have to come out of the first two round of the draft with a good LT prospect. If the Bears can't get that LT in round one, I would take BPA and just move on from there.

Not that the Bears don't need depth, but right now they don't even have 22 NFL caliber starters. Let's get that taken care of first.

Branch was a mid 2nd rounder. Jack Campbell hasn’t worked out.
