• We’ve mentioned the lean-body-mass statistic some teams now use with players as a predictor for injuries and also growth as pros—Abdul Carter’s was the one we raised as being a little low.

Michigan DT Mason Graham is another player who has a bit of a lower number there, which could be an issue for teams such as the Chicago Bears that have traditionally relied on that stat.

So you think the Bears can be literally the first team in a very long time who can draft a top 10 running back and have it work out for them?
  • The last top 10 back drafted was Bijan Robinson. Looks alright for now but Atlanta isn't some juggernaut because of him.
  • Before that, in 2018 it was Saquon #2. How'd the Giants fare with him?
  • Jacksonville took Fournette #4 overall in 2017. How'd that work out? Carolina took McCaffrey #8 overall and it never turned into any team success, not until he was traded to a good team.
  • 2016 the Cowboys took Ezekiel Elliot #4 overall. He had some good years but it didn't translate to many wins when it counted.
  • The Rams took Todd Gurley 10th overall in 2015. How'd he do?
  • in 2012 the Browns took Trent Richardson 3rd overall. Ditto.
If history is any indicator, we'd be trying to buck a really bad trend by taking Jeanty at #10 let alone trading up for him. You could look at the superbowl winners and their leading rushers and other than this past season, you won't find any dynamic, incredible rushers. The Chiefs won the prior two years with Pacheco as their leading rusher (under 1,000 yards both seasons). The Rams before that with Sony Michel under 1,000 yards. The Bucs before that with Ronald Jones under 1,000 yards. The Chiefs before that with Damien Williams at under 500 yards. The Patriots in 2018 with Sony Michel under 1,000 yards. The Eagles in 2017 with LeGarrette Blount under 800 yards. Other than last year, you need to go back to the 2016 Patriots to find the last superbowl winner with a leading rusher over 1,000 yards (LeGarrette Blount as well).

There's a reason why the RB position has become so devalued.
I’m not advocating for drafting a running back very high nor am I suggesting it would be the worst thing in the world. But I will respond by saying the New York Giants made the playoffs and won a playoff game when they had Barkley and they are among the worst teams in the league without him

So jeanty's odds have skyrocketed for the bears lately. He's -190 now to be drafted by us, and -250 to be taken at #5.

We are gonna trade up for jeanty....arent we. The favorite at Pick #10 is now Tet...and we all know the bears are not taking a WR at #10

Apparently, once we get within 12 hours of the draft, everyone gets really really upset at the GM for something he hasn’t done yet. There are conflicting rumors being thrown around by the so-called insiders and it seems CCS is picking the one that upsets them the most and getting mad at polls over that. Even though nothing has happened yet.

I have no problem being upset with the GM after the pic if you don’t like it. But it seems like people get upset about rumors, and they never stop being upset about it. They will simply refer to it as “the mistake he almost made last year“ instead of realizing it was a rumor that wasn’t true.

Fans: “It’s lying season.”

Also fans: “everything is a smoke screen.”

But the same fans are livid over everything they are reading.

Breathe, people. Breathe

The odds are really pretty meaningless. Idk why people think people setting the odds have insider info. Bears fans are notorious for making dumb bets and swinging odds because they are morons.

Having said that there's been a lot of smoke for 48 hours so I'm sure bears fans are swinging those odds.

Well I understand, but the fact that the bears are rumored to maybe trade up...and the odds for jeanty to the bears at 5 and tet to the jags at 10 jumping is pretty interesting

At this point I feel like its happening, and i absolutely hate it

Interesting nugget for the Mason crew.

Feels like guys that are wiry have a higher % of getting hurt but they also have a higher ceiling as their bodies have yet to fill out.

That's just how I read and understood it.
