So here's a random thought... McShay has proposed a trade for the Giants to move up from the 2nd to get Dart at 19. He, in this video, talks about the Jets doing the exact same thing. I wonder what people would think about a trade like this (Rich Hill chart):

Bears:
2025 10 overall - 369 points

Jets:
2025 42 overall - 142 points
2026 1st - 180 points (assumed equal to this year's top of the 2nd)
2025 110 - 30 points
2026 4th - 15 points (assumed equal to this year's top of the 4th)
Total - 367 points

I don't love this year's draft, but I do like the OL prospects next year. I think trading out of this draft and moving down to pick 42, picking up a future 1st, will be a huge plus. Pick 42 can also be ammo to move up into the end of the 1st if someone slips that they like. The obvious bad part is this delays improving the team a bit, but it might not be as much as it would hurt in other years.

There's debate on the true value of a future pick, so I went up to the top of the current round. One could argue something different, but I think it's pretty fair. At worst, it should be playing around with the two extra picks or returning a future pick while adjusting some of the picks I proposed above.

The Jets would have to add a sweetener for me.
There’s no way I’m moving out of the top 10 and into the second round for a discount in points. I like the overall concept though.

Maybe they can toss in Breece Hall!

A 2026 5th will do if they won’t give us Hall. And yes, I’m kidding about Hall although I love the player.

I think they passed on Carter cause flus trash defense “fit” and poles striking out on oline in fa.

I think they passed on him because he was out of shape and couldnt finish his pro day showing dude has very little maturity on top of the character concerns. Most important day of his life and he looked completely unprepared.

Its likely there were only a handful of teams who were comfortable taking carter in the first. People forget he completely bombed his pro day.

He came off as an entitled, out of shape guy that had also been involved an idiotic, fatal drag racing incident. Yes, let’s draft Leonard fucking Little.

I would have passed on that dipshit too.

It’s not a discount though cause we’d get their 1st next year in a deeper draft. The total points work out about even. Armed with 2 firsts next year, Poles would be able to do some serious damage.

Just a random idea though. I know it won’t happen and mostly born out of down time waiting for the draft.

They are giving less points, so it’s absolutely a discount. A move like that almost always demands a premium.

Again, I like the concept. Also, most GMs value future picks a round down.

Listed as RLB. Also STFU. Thanks.

I would say Walker is much more than that..........think of how Micah Parsons was used in his rookie year. He was a LB/DE who moved around the front seven and you never knew where he was going to come from. A lot how Georgia used Walker.
Don't get me wrong, I love Jalon Walker as a player. My sister and brother-in-law are alumni and supporters, and I attend 4 - 5 games a year. I've seen what he can do on the field, especially this year. But I don't think he fits Allen's defense. Historically, he hasn't utilized his linebackers in that way. At 6'1" with 32" arms, he's a rush linebacker and not a defensive end. I don't see him getting enough playing time with TJ Edwards and Trumanie Edmunds on the team unless the plan is to replace one in the lineup. Micah played 85% of the snaps his rookie year; I can't see that with Walker.

I only gave 2 points with my assumption. But yea, I rounded up to the top of the round to be conservative cause the chart only provides some context. There’s more situational aspects to consider. What I mean by this is that our 10 unfortunately holds less value, I believe, as there’s not a premium player at 10, and the 2026 draft should be much more valuable than this one. In other words, a team may be just as happy trading up to 11-15 for the same player and cost them less in a trade… which makes 10 less valuable. But that said, if we did consider the more exact value, the future 4th has a more max value of around a 2026 2nd.

Agreed, and he was an elite talent but we've seen plenty of those fail in the NFL due to similar issues. I do not blame poles/flus at all for passing on him because we were not in position to take that risk. If carter busted the eagles DL would still be good.

It will be interesting to see how carter performs this year when he's "The Guy".

The bad news: He was accused twice and had to transfer schools because of the 2nd accusation.

The good news: He was never arrested or charged in either case and had no further allegations at Marshall.
Per his interview the first school has a 0 tolerance policy and he was suspended they would’ve taken him back next year but he wanted a clean slate.

I don’t believe he was ever charged, which doesn’t mean he was innocent of course.

Either way, I think the bears are in a place now with a locker room that shouldn’t completely implode. Assuming he has matured

I definitely agree. Grady can earn those checks being the big brother. Green has been clean for 2 years and we otherwise have no idea of the context of the accusations. Peyton Manning was accused of sexual assault and look at him. I bet tons of guys have this shit covered up and we never get to know about it. Young people do a lot of dumb crap... and people who are filthy rich can get into some weird crap too. I'm not saying that makes it ok, but even the other guys may not be angels themselves and we just never heard about it. There are probably guys on the Bears now into some weird things. Who knows...

Just make sure any massages he gets are at the Bears facility and/or supervised. 👀

The Bears typically stay away from players with any character concerns, so it would be a bit of a surprise if they took him. That said, the Bears have seemingly been turning a new leaf and doing things differently this off-season, so we'll see what happens. From a pure talent and need perspective, Green would be a home run pick. They need to do their homework of course, but the fact that he was never arrested or charged, is at least "somewhat positive." Off the field stuff aside, that dude could flat out rush the passer and would be a huge boost to the DL/defense.
