Ben Devine is a hack who pretends to have sources.Perfect timing considering the DT convo here.
Don't think Stewart got any D.Hunter comps, people were just finding guys who didn't have high sacks rates in college but went on to become big time sack artists in the NFL and Hunter was one of those. I'm the one who first brought up Hunter when someone asked that question and i know i in no way made it a comp that Stewart would become Hunter. Now maybe i missed someone else making that comp because i don't go through every thread or post.Ive been saying this since the combine when Stewart starting getting all the Danielle Hunter comps. He is elite NFL size and athleticism but has 0 technique. And while that perhaps can be fixed, its a giant red flag to me that he's had 3 years of college ball and still looks like its his first year playing the sport. Maybe Texas A&Ms coaching staff are god awful but 3 years is a lot of time to make 0 improvements to your game. Not every athlete is able to make the jump to being a football player, even with time and effort - there is a mental hurdle that not every mind is able to overcome and Stewart to me is a giant red flag. If he was like a Nigerian import who just started playing football at 18 I think I could get passed those concerns - but Shemar been playing ball since he was 8.
Switching topics, as far as DT in the first, I personally like that path a lot especially if it can be paired with a trade down. I know there are posters on here who have already made up there minds and arent open to changing them, and thats OK you cant save every soul. But PHI is not a good example of why drafting a DT at 10 is a bad idea, here is their DT rotation in '23 after they drafted Carter at 10 - a lot of similarities with the Bears roster in that they had an aging veteran DT, a promising young 3T on a rookie contract in his 3rd year, and a NT already on the roster:

You dont need to get guys snaps just to hit a number, unless you have a superstar at the position or absolutely no depth behind starters 50-60% snaps keeps legs fresh so youre getting higher quality reps from each person in the rotation.
He’s the best player on the DL, I agree we don’t know how he will come back but the idea to move on from him because he’s 31 is kinda wildHe’ll be 31 and I think they go in a different direction. We don’t know how he’ll come back after this injury too.
I tried to see if Miller tweeted it and didn't see it, so I reluctantly just ran with the Devine tweet. I assume it's on youtube somewhere.Ben Devine is a hack who pretends to have sources.
(NVM. I see he’s regurgitating Matt Miller)

I think Miller has a new article on espn+ that I assume it's inI tried to see if Miller tweeted it and didn't see it, so I reluctantly just ran with the Devine tweet. I assume it's on youtube somewhere.
Ah yes, that too. I refuse to pay, haha. ESPN's paid content is hard for me to get around.I think Miller has a new article on espn+ that I assume it's in
Good for you. He really is one of the worst on Bears twatterHe blocked me for calling him out for reposting other people's content as his own.
Interesting thought experiment on trading up from 39 - 39+72 gets you to around 25 overall. 39+next years 3rd gets you to about 32 overall. Seems like theres a good chance one of the Nolen/Grant/Harmon/Alexander tier of DT will still be available somewhere in that range but wont make it to 39 - is that juice worth the squeeze?Perfect timing considering the DT convo here.
Also the work ethic portion cause that was unclear. There were a lot of tea leaves out there that he didn't work hard.
The segment in the middle where Poles talks is must listen stuff IMO. Poles actually goes into Caleb’s body language.
Billings is 30 for the entire NFL season next year, and he costs $3,3m. Unless he gets injured or is still injured there's no reason not to keep him. He was the best DL on the team last year imo and they really collapsed after he got hurt. He was also playing too many snaps, and that shouldn't be as big an issue this year.
Just message me and I’ll send it to youAh yes, that too. I refuse to pay, haha. ESPN's paid content is hard for me to get around.
I'd be very happy with Harmon, Williams, or Sanders.Perfect timing considering the DT convo here.
I 100% get what you mean, but I think his stock is about as high as it can get. His hype couldn't be higher, cause his stats and the highlights... and also a fairly weak top end draft. But, his size and small school would've always limited him, I think. He does a lot like MJD to me, who was a 2nd round pick almost 20 years ago. He's not LaDainian. If this was 20 years ago, Jeanty might be the 1st pick of the draft.
I am thinking 4 tackles will go in the 1st: Campbell, Membou, Conerly, and Banks. No clue what the hell Biggs means. Every single scout has been 100% behind Membou being a starting tackle... big guys McShay, Jeremiah, and Brugler.
Been saying this the entire time (OL in round 2)
