I think that's the problem with this draft. Someone who could be drafted at #10 could easily be #20, and vice versa. Once you get past Carter, Hunter, Graham and maybe Membou, all these guys seem to have serious enough concerns to their game where you can make the case that they aren't a "top 10 pick."

For example, both Rome Odunze and Jalen Carter, the previous 2 years' #9 overall picks, were significantly better prospects than anyone the Saints are likely to be picking from at #9.

I was just thinking the other day "where would Rome go in this draft?"... I imagine much higher than 9 and may be drafted by the Patriots.

I heard Eric Endholm on the Hoge and Jahns podcast, and he brought up the point that with the strength of this draft being 15-50 that the two second rounders it allows you to get a little creative with the #10. I think that means Warren, Stewart, or Williams.

If I’m Poles, Cunningham, Johnson, Allen, and the area scout all have to have conviction on Stewart if I’m taking him at 10. And I mean real, stake your reputations on it conviction...

I was just thinking the other day "where would Rome go in this draft?"... I imagine much higher than 9 and may be drafted by the Patriots.

I think the latest he would go is 7 to the Jets. The Raiders would be in too at 6. I could see the Pats as well.

If the Bears were to go OL in round two, I would take a long look at Charles Grant, even though it is another FCS LT. He is a freak athlete who is healthy, a stronger player coming out of college than Jones and much quicker than Amegadjie. Poles says he wants competition at LT and Grant can be that.

A lot of people like Grant on here but not sure i've seen anyone talking about taking him in the high 2nd round. Do you think we can get him with our 3rd round pick or think he'd go before that? I do think he's the kind of player that can be higher on teams boards then he is on these draft analysts boards.

Sorry I must have missed your top TE list request, but anyway... The constant whining about me saying Warren was a reasonable target for the Bears because of his versatility and the way Ben Johnson could use him...

BEFORE the rest of the "professional" draft experts echoed the same thing in multiple mocks and now have him potentially being drafted before the Bears pick...

Says more about you and the others that keep trying to claim that I am out of my mind for the suggestion.

To be fair i've seen Warren mocked to teams above the Bears since this mock draft process started especially the Jags and Jets.

Indeed. I think he was bigger on Arroyo from Miami and Mason Taylor as far as the scheme goes.

Which I don't really buy seeing as how we don't really know what the scheme exactly is if it is really being "ripped down to the studs."

Personally, I would see if there was the ability to trade back a little. If not, I would not reach. I would take the best DT or DE on the board at that time and hope to address LT in the 2nd. Somewhere, they need to address LT but they also need a DE and DT.

That's the problem as a 5 win team. There are loads of holes and team really lacks depth across all positions, especially on the OL unless you really trust Bates who is loaded with arthritis, Kiran, and Bill Murray.

I hate that tweet that was posted on here that the Bears prefer DT over DE in the draft. Can't remember who posted it and i get why they would go DT whether that be 3T or 1T but i just can't see how DE/Pass Rush isn't the bigger need of the two. Been saying this since we trade for him but M.Sweat is not a big sack guy, he's never even reached double digit sacks before the season we traded for him when he got 12 between Wash and the Bears, and Odeyingbo is kinda a lottery ticket right now not knowing what he'll be as a pass rusher with only having 3 sacks last year.

I not only see DE as a bigger need than DT but i have DE as being our biggest need period but i do have OL/T right with DE as my 1B.

I have hope for Austin Booker but that dude has some work to do on his body and pass rush moves before i can trust him as our #3 DE. We really need help at DE.

Yeah he seems like he's going to go late 1st and if he did make the 2nd round then can't see him making it to #39.

I think DE is definitely a bigger need currently but if bears won't take pearce/green/ezeraiku then I think there is bigger difference makers at DT. They can get the same quality of edge guys in rds 2-4 as they would be looking at in 1 if they are going to pass on the elite edge rushers

I sort of assume it's less a need issue and more of a "who is available" deal. I think the picks at 10-32 are probably safer for DTs. Personally, I do like Green and Pearce, but they may not be Allen's flavor. I rather not take any other guy at 10 or even if they trade into the 20s. Someone like Tuimoloau in the 2nd seems to fit the right draft value and the size criteria... Burch or Scourton are possible too. Conversely, there are a chunk of talented DTs that may be gone in the 10-32 range... namely Nolen, Harmon, Grant, or Alexander. I don't think Grant is a target anymore, but I imagine they'd really like one of the other 3. This all sort of assumes they don't like Green or Pearce. I like both a lot.

Kyle Long is on this. Very entertaining. Banks is his #2 OL. Membou is #1

I wish he would of asked Kyle if he thought banks can play LT and if he though Membou could make the switch from RT to LT and interesting that Conerly wasn't top 10 on either of their lists.

His comments on Banks Jr. are eye opening. He sees a LT with the traits, tape, and upside. I love his comment about Banks having “quiet games” where he’s just doing his thing and not being mentioned because he’s getting the job done. Also, he stated he’s well equipped to handle assignments in more creative schemes (Ben Johnson comes to mind).

So he did say Banks is a LT? I missed that part but did do a little skimming through the whole video.

I don’t get the Warren love from media guys at all. It’s not like BJ was pioneering some two TE offense. Jeanty at least makes positional sense.

Ben Johnson made his name as a TE coach. The Lions moved on from Hock and they spent a high pick on LaPorta. Ben Johnson has shown that he likes high end weapons and can utilize them well. This isn't hard to understand. I'm not saying they have to take a TE, but if you can't see how much more dynamic Warren and Loveland are then Kmet, you are just fixated on not taking a TE.

For sure DT, especially 3T, is stronger than DE in this draft. Love M.Graham, W.Nolen and D.Harmon among many others. I just can't see how Dennis Allen can think he's good at DE with Sweat, Odeyingbo and Booker as his #3.

Agree with most but lets wait and see what BJ gets out of Kmet next year because he could have Kmet with top 5 - 7 TE stats when the season is over if they don't use a high draft pick on a TE.
