What happens every year? He said "until people stopped watching the game film and started nit picking measurements". People have been watching film all offseason. To suggest people haven't still been "watching the game film" is crazy. Poles and Ben talked about the film sessions they've been having with the scouts. Are we thinking Ben and Poles were breaking down college players in October? The media people are also all talking about how they just finished breaking down film and then put out videos. As an example, Chris Simms has transparently said he has no time during the NFL season to watch college cause he's focused on the NFL... so he watches film now and makes his rankings now.

I get that scouts are watching guys all the time, but they aren't making decisions... a lot of NFL people are focused on the NFL during the year and then breaking down the college players in the offseason. Give me a single guy that locked in Banks as a higher rank during the college season than they do today and moved him down cause of measurements.

I'm agreeing with your post. Every year there's guys that fall or rise in the off-season because people start deep diving into film.

I’ve been correct about (and agreed with) the last three number one picks although Caleb was a given.

Between Harmon, Nolen, Banks, name-your-pick-of-a-guy-people-think-isn't-a-#10-overall-pick-guy, as long as we get a guy who can play, I don't care. That's just how this draft is. If you're going to get all bent out of shape about how "zomg we took him 5 slots too high" then you're not going to be happy with anyone we draft.

He's also someone thats been discussed on here a decent bit when we do talk safeties. The bears met with him at the combine i believe(or was it a top 30 visit?). Either way this is the safety the bears met with and is in play at #72. He's always been a low 2nd/high 3rd level prospect who could go higher.

While I don't disagree that I'd like more speed, more importantly, a better 10 yard split... Ben Johnson's previous LT was not fast.

Yea, and I think the names you have there are essentially what it's coming to. I think the Bears are going OT or DT at 10.

And, I think their hope is they probably land one of each somehow... so the list of OTs are maybe Conerly, Banks, Ersery and the DTs are Nolen and Harmon. Donovan Jackson may be an option too (more of a great guard option). They spoke to him at the combine and saw him at the pro day. But there was a rumor that the Bears may want to move into the first for a DT. I think the reason they need to trade back into the first is cause they'll take the OT at 10, leaving them to try to get Nolen or Harmon at the end of the 1st.

I have no idea what he ran. I couldn’t care less how long it takes any OL to run 40 yards in underwear.
I worry about him having slow feet sometimes but his 40 time is nowhere near a worry imo

I think you are correct on the oline. I’m split between Banks and Conerly with Ersery right in the mix. DT all I would do is add Grant to the mix. I know he’s a different style but man is he quick/fast for his size

I don't care which they pick... I'll just hope they chose right. Ersery would probably be too much of a reach at 10 though cause he's the biggest project of the 3. He's maybe the highest upside though.

Even if he thinks the video of a safety is about banks for some reason, he's still talking out of his ass. It's pretty much universally accepted that banks is likely the 3rd OT off the board and that has been the case for a while

I've come around to thinking that if everyone feels like a reach, then no one is a reach. There's about a half dozen guys I would like to see at 10. Grant, Green, Harmon, Nolen, Walker, etc. None of them are consensus top 10 guys, who cares with this draft. Then I might not love but would be fine with just about anyone else. Jeanty, Warren, Loveland, Baron. Hampton, Banks, Campbell, fine, whatever, if this team has identified one of these guys as the impact player we need, go for it. It's a weird draft, just draft a guy who is going to be a solid starter and don't shoe horn based on fit and im satisfied.
