Yea there has been buzz about him to them since the combine. People in the patriots also said the arm length doesnt scare them off.

I'm guessing thats the pick at 4, which is why the giants need to be dumb and take shadeur at #3. If that happens the pats will be forced to take one of travis hunter/abdul carter. If they pass those guys up for will campbell then the draft will really get effing crazy

We have brought in exactly 1 defensive player that's worthy of our pick. If we're not going offense that would mean that's the defensive player we're getting or we're drafting blind.

Please explain how selecting a defensive player that didn’t come in for a top 30 visit is “drafting blind.” I guess scouting at actual games, the East West Shrine, the Senior Bowl, attending the combine, and watching tape doesn’t count.

When Poles and Cunningham jump on a plane and attend a few college games in a day, are they closing their eyes once the ball is kicked off?

Man, It would suck to draft a TE who may not even be an improvement from cold cement.

It would suck even more to see the packers get the best cb in the draft at fucking #23, essentially patching one of if not their biggest weakness.

Then they are getting one of my favorite DT's in the 2nd. While the bears reach for another project OT instead who's ceiling is average in the NFL...we already have one of those.

Fantastic draft if you are a packers fan I guess.

That and you may not bring in a known to try and prevent being jumped for a guy.

It's lying season.

Using conventional Bear Fan wisdom explain to me how bringing in a top ranked RB who is expected to go to the Raiders is a smokescreen.
We have brought in exactly 1 defensive player that's worthy of our pick. If we're not going offense that would mean that's the defensive player we're getting or we're drafting blind.
Without crunching a bunch of boards I see a lot of defensive players we could've brought in to smokescreen the one that we did bring in. Unless all the offense on our board is gone it's offense with #10. There is no smoke.

I can almost guarantee you Jeanty is on the table.
He might be our 10th option but there's a scenario where The Chicago Bears draft Ashton Jeanty with the 10th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
I'm not saying it's a smokescreen... I definitely think they like him, but...

You can definitely use it that way. For example, lets just argue that the Bears want Kelvin Banks Jr... and the Niners do as well.

If the Bears have decided NOT to bring in Banks, but are bringing in Jeanty and Hampton, a team like the Niners would be less inclined to feel the need to trade up to 8 or 9 to grab Banks cause they probably believe the Bears will take Jeanty if he slips or they'll just take Hampton. Orchestrating this dire need for a position group, whether or not you'd actually be able to draft the guy, can be a smokescreen.

Another example could be Mykel Williams. Maybe the Saints love him... and they see the Bears and think "The Bears haven't brought Mykel in for a top 30 and they seem to really want a RB cause they brought in Jeanty and Hampton. I can swap picks with the Niners or Cowboys and probably still get Mykel." So, instead of them drafting Mykel at 9, he now falls into the Bears laps and the Saints lose the guy they wanted.

Do I think the Bears are doing that? No, I don't, but anything can be a strategic piece of misdirection if a team wants it to be.

I was thinking the same... actually all 3 teams load up at CB. I think two good values on the DL in the 2nd too.

On the Bears side though, I'd be a big fan of Ersery in the 2nd.

The idea that erserys ceiling is average is a pretty stupid statement. His ceiling is why he has value because it's extremely high. His floor is being a bust though.

You know there's teams that don't even do any 30 visits? How do they do their whole draft blind?!?

Meh. That’s not a pick I would lose any sleep over.

Quick question for the room...

Why is no one talking about the two most interesting tidbits I found out about recently in the "Beast"?

#1 Will Cambell has had a ton of flags over the last couple of seasons: 14 flags with 7 false starts.

#2 Ashton Jeanty has had a lot of fumbles: 5 last season (one called back for penalty) and 9 in the last two seasons.

We probably won't hear about them at all until right after the Bears draft one of them I'm sure.
On Will Campbell, I have mentioned this and how overrated he has been before on CCS…but nobody listens lol

1: Hate the Warren pick.
2: A+ pick. (Don’t think he lasts that long)
2: B+ pick. (Also not sure he lasts that long)
3: A pick.

Don’t know any of the other players so won’t comment. But they fill needs.

Are the Raiders really picking Jeanty at 6? I wonder what Chip Kelly thinks about that?
I have been on the train that Jeanty to the Raiders at 6 doesn’t make sense and I’ll need to see it happen to admit I’m wrong. There’s a lot of reasons why, and this is one of them. It’s otherwise a bad idea for that team and I think it’s even worse for Jeanty’s career. If a team drafts a RB, don’t waste his prime years like Saquon. Be ready to play meaningful games cause RBs have the least amount of those.

I don't think the Bear go OT in the 1st 2 rounds unless it's BPA. I doubt they take 1 player he's projected though Warren (meh) and Henderson(y) are possibilities. That's not a slam. It's still useful and fun tool for a general perspective on prospects. Hoping an early pick has value at DL.
