Yeah, in the homestretch after everything has been said 100 times these guys have to come up with something new. Earlier someone suggested a writer should be fired for his crazy take but in fact that’s exactly what they’re being paid for.

While it is true, that fans will continue to regurgitate the same things over and over on a fan for him as we are doing here and I’m sure others are doing elsewhere, writers have to just throw shit at the wall as you said just to get somebody to read it.

The draft can’t come soon enough.

Guys…… what if we traded all our picks this year for picks next year when the draft is (per sources) LOADED? Then we tank this year and have a Super Draft next year? Caleb can take the year off and work on his footwork with big BJ. Bagent can start and when we lose him to free agency we get a comp pick!!

I’ll hang up and listen….

I've been project 2 for a while but this draft has so many that UDFA is a viable option for #2. We also still have Wheeler that showed genuine potential before the ding last year.

Was thinking one of those 7ths may actually be useful for once

The Bears currently have a starter rehabbing from major surgery and a third round pick with one start.

I’m aware. It’s not an ideal situation, and they’ll need to add an OT at some point, but I don’t think you over draft a lesser player just because you’re concerned your starter might miss a couple of games. The Bears also have a lot more info on Braxtons injury too….if they’re really concerned about it or the rehab isn’t going well, thats definitely a factor….but if you expect him to fully bounce back, he’s going to beat out all these guys being talked about.

More than likely, but guys like remy want out left tackle to suck for a year so we get the growing paints out of a #10 pick. lol

Absolute bonkers thought but hey, I'm here for the stupidity. I'm mostly okay with taking a tackle at #10 because braxton is going to make crazy money if he plays the same as he has the last few years.

Personally my ideal scenario is to take a DE or jalon walker at #10, then trade up w/ 41 or 39 and pair it with 72 to get into the mid 20's and draft simmons. Let simmons redshirt a bit behind braxton and start in 2026.

What about 2,3,4 years from now? Who will be better? Does that figure into your decision making? That’s what I care about. I want long term solutions

If Braxton starts next year while they develop someone I am fine with it. Competition also makes everyone better and the Bears never have legit competition

Are you talking about the same Bates who missed all of last year because he's riddled with arthritis? I am not sure Bates is solid. Buffalo revamped their OL last year and chose not to keep him even though he was cheap. They obviously knew something Poles did not.
Did you miss the qualifier (...if he can play)?

He said he's good after the stem cell treatment but we all have doubts. Point was that I don't think the Bear use a pick in the 1st 2 days at G. We don't know what Bates or the Bear do and that would change a perspective. We're not talking about him being the starter he was projected to be when traded. He missed the end of the season with a concussion, not the shoulder and even though it was an real issue last year, it's reportedly better. We'll see.

Murray had an 82 PFF grade before tearing his pec. Small but VG sample and he was planting guys.

They need to just take the best overall player at 10. You never know what will develop into a need in a few years. Ideally, it will be at a premier position.

Your ideal scenario is drafting another pre-injured guy? Nice!

wouldn't mind the top 3, though I'd rather have Judkins. Probably take a DL at 72.
If Johnson thinks that Warren is the ultimate chess piece for his offense and among the best talents on the board then I wouldn't argue with it. I do think Kmet would basically be relegated to nothing which is a terrible use of assets but oh well, as long as Warren turns out to be a stud.

It doesn't look like Henderson will last til #39 now, especially when you consider that teams will know we're eyeing a RB and will have to trade up above us to get him.

I wouldn't trade any of their top 4 picks this year
I understand the sentiment but don't think GMs go into a draft with that sort of absolute ideology. You never know what falls or targeted position may thin out early.

It's why I think they may prefer Coleston on a small move down. He can be your slot on passing downs and allow Kmet his normal TE duties including routes when viable. It also allows the O to use the same personnel regardless of down and distance. Would be fun to see D's guessing on every down with CW under center.

I hope they're not eyeing TE as a position in general at #10. Kmet has been underutilized and was signed to a big extension. I know Johnson likes to use 2 tight ends but that's why you picked up Smythe: as a blocker. Brock Wright got 16 targets last year in BJ's offense and that's fine for Smythe.

Grabbing a guy late to add to the room is cool but taking a TE high is unnecessary, unless you think he's a unicorn of sorts. That's what Warren might figure to be for Johnson.

I could live with any of those players except Simmons. No more pre-injured guys early!
I'm really curious to see where Simmons goes. I feel the media scouts are totally missing how serious that injury is and I want to see how teams view it. It wouldn't shock me to see him sliding and you get to hear the talking heads bring up his "off the field issues" as if he isn't recovering from one of the more devastating injuries a football player can have. I guess we'll see though.
