I would not find it very funny if they were in love with Braxton.

“He’s back from injury and miraculously now better.“ Ain’t gonna happen
Why would it be miraculous if he was healthy in time to get some TC in and ready to go game 1?

Does anyone else feel that if they don't draft OT with the first pick, somehow the O-line will STILL be the reason this offense doesn't succeed next year? Like somehow the injury bug will fugg them up and the revolving door at Left Tackle will leave them fumbling with personnel changes early on and it will derail their season? lol

Based on McShay's latest video, I think he'll be off the board by the time the Bears pick. It feels like there's enough there to bet on him being a pick from 6-9.
So Mykel gone before pick 10? I really like him so he's one of the guys i'd love to be the pick at 10 and he's only 20 years old.

If Bears land Jeanty, Graham, or even take Grant at 10 I wouldn't be upset if they package both 39 and 41 to move back into 1st to nab someone like Conerly Jr.
I think packaging a second and the third are more likely if they traded back into round one

It's all speculation, so take it for what it's worth. That's what McShay is hearing though. I think he specifically dropped him as a possibility for the Raiders and it makes all the sense in the world given Carroll has historically loaded up early on defense in drafts.

He also mentions the Eagles thing... people have become obsessed with Jeanty cause Saquon and that's the cool thing to do again, but everyone is ignoring the edges. The same hype of "this is how to win a super bowl" by having edges create pressure, and not needing to blitz. I think the mock world has completely overlooked that teams took notice of it and will draft accordingly.

I am guessing two edges go top 9 and probably 4-5 in the top 20. If you count Walker, that's 3 in the top 9 that I'm going to predict. For what it's worth, he's also been told that the Saints will likely want to replace Cam with a guy of similar size. Cam is big, and quite bigger than these guys, but that can only really mean Mykel or Shemar.

He also mentioned NO and that mykel or shemar could be in the cam Jordan mold and learn from him in likely his final year. Mykel to NO has always been an option that made sense but they need everything

I might be on the same page, but there's a big part of me that really wants to be patient here. If the Bears can't land that LT without reaching... find a dude they truly love, I think it just have to come next year. I'd trade up next year if needed. It feels like there's bad value in moving from 39/41 to the late 1st this year given the grades are so equal. I get we want/need a LT though. It's an interesting spot to be in.
Is it weird that I think Will Campbell, Kelvin Banks Jr, and Membou all are either RT or guards and none will be good LTs in NFL? I feel like there is maybe 3 LTs in this draft in Josh Simmons, Josh Conerly Jr and Ersery. Out of those 3 I would rule out Josh Simmons due to his injury concerns which is same issue(not same injury) you already have with Braxton Jones in not being ready by preseason. That leaves Conerly Jr and Ersery. Conerly will go early 20s to late 1st and Ersery might get to 39. I cant run risk of not having a LT to start the season hence why I move back into 1st to snag Conerly

Fuk that, i'm still hoping for a trade down. If not with the 10th pick then with one or even both of the 2nd rounders. I just can't stand that huge gap we have between pick #72 and pick #148. I love this 2nd round and the talent that should be there into the 50's.
ya all these guys in PFF or PFSN draft simulators who show in 2nd rd will go in 1st...includes : Kenneth Grant, Tyleik Williams, Omerion Hampton, Josh Conerly Jr, Xavier Watts

Yea, I threw in a late edit to include that, haha.

I dont think tyleik or watts go in rd 1. They could but I think they end up right outside.

Not weird at all. I'm obviously not an expert, but just trying to absorb everything from the experts, including a ton of OL experts, this is what I'd predict:
  • Membou is a stud. His measurables are just too good. At 330 lbs, running a sub 5.0 40 and a 30"+ vertical is insane. I saw an article that said the only current players to ever do that are Trent and Wirfs. They happen to be the two best LTs in the NFL. I don't know if Membou can be an LT, but I'd 100% take the shot if he's there at 10 (he won't be).
  • Campbell... I just can't see it. I think he'll be a great player for a decade though, if that would mean anything. He's pretty similar to Thuney in every way athletically and physically. To me, that means he can probably be a solid LT, but will be exposed when he faces the elite pass rushing teams.
  • Banks.. I like Banks a lot since before the process even started. I expected him to move up on boards and he went down and now kind of back up. I see too many people I respect a lot say he's going to be a guard, most likely. I think he'll be an average LT or elite guard. I do think with a QB like Caleb, you can survive with an average LT so long as your IOL is amazing. I'm not advocating to ignore LT... just sayin. And for the record, I'm ok if they want to find out if he can make it at LT and his floor is a stud guard.
  • Conerly is my favorite. I think he's the right blend of ceiling and risk. He's certainly a lower floor than the guys above though. Those top 3 are all starters for a decade. Conerly can flame out.
  • Ersery is like Conerly with more risk and higher ceiling. He has the highest ceiling in my opinion.
  • Simmons will go higher than I'd take him. I'm also out. I think LT is just too difficult. I think Simmons will probably play a solid career, but his ceiling is capped as a midlevel tackle cause the injury.

Which means 5 players mocked in the 1st round will now drop to the 2nd round.

The Bears are giving 1790 points and the Jags would be giving 1780.

That doesn’t look like “no way” to me.
Your trade is accurate. I use the Rich Hill chart, so it's a bit different, but close enough. Honestly, I am highly confident Jeanty will not go 5 or 6 though and wouldn't give all that up if I were Poles. I'd take the gamble.

IF I had to make a trade, then I'm not doing my 2nd. I'd say 72 and next year's 3rd. I think it's a slight underpay, but I don't think they're going to have takers for 5. More teams are looking to move down than up, and I think they're going to really want McMillian, who should fall nicely into their laps at 10. That means they get two free 3rds for the same guy they'd have at 5 anyway.

But considering positional value, I'm not paying a premium to move up for a RB. I rather not move up at all to be honest... unless we're talking about Carter. I like Membou a lot too actually.
