see, i wasnt high on hyatt coming out. felt he was a 4th - 5th round pick range quality

but, he hasnt seen the field much in NY and hte QB position has been dreadful there. for a 6th or 7th round pick, i would take that flier and add his speed to the offense
Generally I couldn’t care less about 6th or 7th round picks, so I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. This year though, I think they could be valuable if used on a RB. I wouldn’t be opposed to taking 2 this year if the Bears missed out on Jeanty. Like one 2nd or 3rd round RB and another 6th or 7th possibly. Either way, it’s pretty whatever for me if they went the Hyatt trade route

You think they’re drafting more than one rb?

I said I wouldn’t be opposed if they missed out on jeanty. Like if they went skattebo in round 3, I could see then drafting a speedy and more athletic RB in round 7 if they liked someone.

God I hope we don't draft Skattebo, much less in the 3rd round. Tons of miles on that dude and he's slower than David Montgomery.

I don't see why the jags pass on Mason Graham and if they do I don't see how he falls to 10
I heard someone else talking about how it's such a traits-driven league and Graham is an average athlete at best, so teams might shy away that high in the draft. Seems unlikely to me, but if he's there at 10, I think you run the pick in with a big smile on your face.

The jags starting DT last year had like 5 pressures.

They drastically need to upgrade DT to make that defense at least someone respectable. No clue how the eff they can pass on him

If both graham and jeanty are there at #10, and the bears pick jeanty I will be very upset

That's the whole point of what I'm saying. The person I quoted said it's "thin in starters" and I disagree. I think there should be 3 starts, minimum from this draft. That's reasonable in any draft. I'm not calling it a special draft. I'm more so saying it's not as bad as people are saying it is.

Really depends on whether or not the training and coaching staff believes Ian Wheeler hasn't lost speed due to his knee injury.

Agree 100%. I think the Raiders would grab him. Maybe I'm missing it, but I don't think McShay even actually says Mason will be there for the Bears. He ends it saying Ashton and Warren.

Time to flip the table on the established narratives now that we're 4 days away.
Honestly, we know the established narratives are garbage. I've said for over a month now that the Raiders make no sense for Jeanty. People saying the Jags now are just as crazy... maybe just slightly less crazy I guess.

I’ve said it before, but my probably unpopular opinion is the he benefited a helluva lot more being next to Grant on that DL than Grant did being next to him.

I think Grant ends up being the more impactful pro player.

I would not be happy if they used anything higher than a 5th round pick on Skattebo. It would be a wasted pick. I think he would be the 3rd best in that rb room, and it’s not that great of a room.

I should have said in almost any scenario. I’m also more basing that opinion off your “You’d rather have less picks this draft“ statement. I get what you’re saying, but there are a lot variables and just on the surface seems like kind of a crazy thing to say. All drafts are different and the talent is spread differently so it just seems like a blanket statement when there’s more nuance to it.

Kind of going off on a tangent here, but people get too focused on rounds. Like there’s this magical drop that happens between 33 and 32. That’s the extreme example, but people do it to a lesser extent all the time. Rounds are meaningless. It’s the pick number that matters. People have this psychological thing with rounds.

There is not that big of a difference in how we look at pick 22 and pick 30. Of course there is some. It’s 8 spots. But now imagine there are only 22 teams. And know I can say one is a first round pick and one is a middle second round pick. That psychologically changes your expectation and projection for those players the way them both being late firsts doesn’t. People do that all the time.
Its no secret the first round has a significantly much better chance of finding a probowler than other rounds.

Here is a study by the Times done in 2022

Tackle, QB and Edge had the highest disparity from round 1 to round 2 for Probowlers.

Great graphic... the basis for why you don't trade up for anything but those premium positions.
