It is worth noting that he was behind several other nfl TEs at Penn state I believe though
Not really. For comparison, Bowers was the unquestioned starter pretty much the second he walked into Athens as a freshman. And everyone knew it. The fact Warren had to sit behind those guys-guys that would have had to fetch Bowers water-should concern folks that he didn’t really produce until year 5.

Point is, Warren isn’t even in the same galaxy as a prospect, and except for me and some others, a lot of people thought Bowers shouldn’t have been drafted as early as he was right after the draft.

Warren is one of the few picks at 10 that would be incredibly stupid, imo.

It's been talked about a lot. Friermuth, Brenton Strange, and Theo Johnson were all there before him and were drafted the last three years. They've had a ton of TE talent and bad passing offenses. He had 422 yards and 7tds the year before with another NFL TE on the roster and a team that passed for like 2500 yards
Elite TEs don’t need to wait any amount of time sitting behind those players you listed.

Braxton Jones gets firm endorsement from Chicago Bears offensive line coach

From the article:
“He’s a phenomenal man,” ( Dan) Roushar said. “He’s got unbelievable character. I see the work ethic. I’ve watched him rehab since I’ve been here, from the morning to early afternoon, he is working and making strong improvements right now. I think he’s an overachiever. I think he will continue to improve. That’s our job collectively to get the best out of him.”
------
"Holding the No. 10 overall pick in the draft, the Bears will have numerous top flight offensive linemen to choose from. At the top of the list are LSU’s Will Campbell and Missouri’s Armand Membou. Campbell, despite his short arms, is a proven commodity at tackle and considered the best lineman in the draft. Membou holds a level of athleticism not many offensive lineman do. He is climbing up draft boards as a prime example of what teams want in the next wave of offensive linemen."

Bowers was a man amongst boys from day 1 and this was when the SEC was still the unquestioned king.

I've never compared him to bowers because I know he's not nearly as good. I prefer colston to Warren. That doesn't change the fact Warren did sit behind other TEs. And yes that does call into question the type of prospect he is but also coach Franklin doesn't have a clue with offense.

I hear ya. But tbf, Bowers had to play mostly with the immortal Stetson Bennett.

I brought up Bowers because I would have been happy with him last draft or this draft because of the dominance he displayed.

Any TE at 10 needs to be that once in every 5 year TE prospect. I don’t believe any TE in this draft meets that qualification.

Yeah I don't want any TE in rd 1. BUT if they do waste the 10th pick on one, Loveland actually gets open and is a good run blocker. Two things that Warren isn't great at.

I said I wouldn’t be opposed if they missed out on jeanty. Like if they went skattebo in round 3, I could see then drafting a speedy and more athletic RB in round 7 if they liked someone.
If they make a huge mistake and use a third round pick on a guy with no speed, you could see them getting a guy with speed later? Yeah then you’d have to try to mold those two people into one human being to make them worthwhile.
