Especially at that timeAnd LT at Texas Christian. Not exactly a football powerhouse

Please do not trade up to 5… the rookie GM is bluffing. I refuse to believe until I see it. Jaguars have like 10 picks in this draft loaded with RBs. They can take 2 RBs if they want to cover themselves. Passing premium players is just not the move. They’re begging someone to hand them a pick to take McMillian later. And if they do, good for them, someone else is falling to 10.
What positions will those three play? The Bears should be able to add 3 absolute starters out of the top 4 picks. How they can even consider that trade is beyond me.
When he started a rebuild rather than try to patch things immediately people bitched about the timetable. He has done it the right way for the most part. So just shut up.CORRECT. If they do it just goes to show how arrogantly wrong and reckless Ryan Poles is.
1) The Bears are not one player away
2) Ashton Jeanty is not the guy you draft if you feel like you're one player away
3) Ryan Poles has no patience or maturity to be an NFL GM.

I think they'll take either tet or jeanty at 5 and I think jeanty is a significantly better player, so I wouldn't be surprised at all. Please do not trade up to 5… the rookie GM is bluffing. Any 5-12 team has multiple positions that can easily be upgraded with one of those 3 top 50 draft picks. What positions will those three play?
No OL or DL is guaranteed to start Year 1 for Bears. DL may be part of rotation and OL could easily sit behind Jones, Thuney, Dalman, Jackson and Wright.#10, #39, #41... those are absolutely starter level premium picks year one.
Sold. Come out with 4 top 50 players basically. Edge, DT, LT, RB. That would be amazing value and set a very good base for the following years.
More than anyone else I can think of, you get really really upset at the Bears GM for things he has not done. Before you get too worked up about a rumor about what he might do. Why don’t you at least wait until tomorrow to get pissed?I don’t know what is more pathetic if that trade up rumor is true.
1. Poles thinking he is one player away and offering 3 picks for one.
2. The stupid Giants GM declining it.
The battle of the dumbasses continues.
Looks like Mason Graham is dropping past 5.
Maybe, but it’s not just about who is the better player now. It’s more complicated than that or Jeanty would be going to the Patriots. It’s about for how long and what else you’re likely to get later. They have no clear No. 2 WR right now and gave up their pass catching TE. If you take RB first in a deep RB class, you better be super confident you find the right WR2 later on.I think they'll take either tet or jeanty at 5 and I think jeanty is a significantly better player, so I wouldn't be surprised at all.
Of course nothing is guaranteed, with that said you don't spend premium draft capital on players that will be backups for the next couple years. No OL or DL is guaranteed to start Year 1 for Bears. DL may be part of rotation and OL could easily sit behind Jones, Thuney, Dalman, Jackson and Wright.

Just some other thoughts:
As I said, I think they’re bluffing. I think they love McMillian. If not, well, it is what it is. I’m not giving up a 2nd to get a RB at 5.
- Jaguars are analytically driven under their new GM and analytically driven people love McMillian. He’s #4 on PFFs board, as an example.
- Coen and Gladstone each had RBs last year that were Day 3 picks land in the top 10 in rushing.
- McMillian was the best cognitive test among WRs and the Jages reportedly value it a lot.
- Reportedly, Coen really wants his big frame Mike Evans-esq guy.
- McMillian has some of the best jump ball ability in the draft. Lawrence was at his best in college when he could toss it up to his two 6’4 WRs.
- Back to analytics, the analytically driven big board for the Jags has McMillian at 5 and Jeanty at 18.
