I think they'll take either tet or jeanty at 5 and I think jeanty is a significantly better player, so I wouldn't be surprised at all.
Maybe, but it’s not just about who is the better player now. It’s more complicated than that or Jeanty would be going to the Patriots. It’s about for how long and what else you’re likely to get later. They have no clear No. 2 WR right now and gave up their pass catching TE. If you take RB first in a deep RB class, you better be super confident you find the right WR2 later on.

Just some other thoughts:
  • Jaguars are analytically driven under their new GM and analytically driven people love McMillian. He’s #4 on PFFs board, as an example.
  • Coen and Gladstone each had RBs last year that were Day 3 picks land in the top 10 in rushing.
  • McMillian was the best cognitive test among WRs and the Jaguars reportedly value it a lot.
  • Reportedly, Coen really wants his big frame Mike Evans-esq guy.
  • McMillian has some of the best jump ball ability in the draft. Lawrence was at his best in college when he could toss it up to his two 6’4 WRs.
  • Back to analytics, the analytically driven big board for the Jags has McMillian at 5 and Jeanty at 18.
As I said, I think they’re bluffing. I think they love McMillian. If not, well, it is what it is. I’m not giving up a 2nd to get a RB at 5.

No OL or DL is guaranteed to start Year 1 for Bears. DL may be part of rotation and OL could easily sit behind Jones, Thuney, Dalman, Jackson and Wright.
Of course nothing is guaranteed, with that said you don't spend premium draft capital on players that will be backups for the next couple years.

All 3 of the Bears top picks should be starters before the end of the season.

Get on the phone with Gladstone. Tet should be the pick! LFG!

If they go LT, RB, DT or Edge. Two of the three will be starters and the Edge or DT will be in a regular rotation.

Looks like Mason Graham is dropping past 5.
It never made sense for their new HC to want a 3 tech with the #5 overall pick. They had nothing on offense beyond Brian Thomas Jr.

I hope you are right because I think if they pass, there's a chance he makes it to 10. If I were taking an offensive weapon and were them, it'd be jeanty

LT is a risky pick because they already have a young developmental player there. Once they extend Thuney the interior OL will be blocked for the next couple years.

That makes Campbell and Banks even more risky options because they both could be forced inside to guard. DE is also tricky because Sweat's likely here for at least the next two years and Dayo plays a lot of snaps.

Poles should call them on this bluff and call them up and act like he's interested in trading for Travis Etienne. LOL

I don't see DE as risky at all. Sweat is the obvious starter but Dayo will be playing inside some and he still needs to prove more on the pass rush so we have room for a 3rd DE IMO.
