If we trade up into the top 5 to draft Jeanty he becomes the 6th highest paid running back in the league.

What an awful waste of a cost-controlled contact that would be.
Another factor to consider for sure.

Question isnt whether Poles is dumb enough to trade up for Jeanty but whether Johnson is given the Lions took Gibbs high in 2023. If the rumors are true it is obvious this is Johnson pushing for this.
The lions traded out of pick 5 back to pick 12 and selected Gibbs.

This is nothing like trading up from 10 to 5 to then grab a RB

Also, it ain’t gonna happen

The guaranteed portion is even higher. It’s 2nd or 3rd among RBs.

Bears trade up to take Jeanty with the #16 pick.
That would be the only trade up I'd consider (or for a different player).

But I'd like OT, DE, DT, OG with no trades.
