That was a great play on the ball.. but he was a little beat there. Note though that it's extremely hard to cover horizontal routes. From the defensive perspective, you can be faster than the guy across from you but for some reason if you're running horizontally (ie a crossing-route), all it takes is for a half-step and they're open; maybe because you have to worry about them turning up field? I dunno. But if that receiver catches the ball cleanly, while he's probably going to get tackled, there is a chance he can scoot past on the outside.
Really? I think he still makes that tackle before the RB can scoot past him if the catch is made.

I’ll be interested in watching them this season. They play a hard nosed brand of football and are returning both of their RBs.

I thought Dennis-Sutton was starting to turn it on in the playoffs. I’ll be keeping a close eye on him too.
Depending on where the Bears finish the 2025 season Singleton their RB may in the mix also.

Damn, Luther Burden allowed himself to be photographed in a Bears jersey? I thought he was faking a soft tissue injury to avoid signing his contract.
I think some Bear fans might actually believe that.

Plus, why wouldn’t he want to come here? He’ll be coached by an offensive wizard and his position coach has had quantifiable success in Detroit and played in the league.

Also, I think Caleb would be a draw for most receiving prospects.

So it turns out that was from before the injury.
Was it? He did practice the day after the injury but hasn’t since.

Where are you getting this information?

He was injured on the 10th and practiced on the 11th.

Not that it matters but how do you know?

1. Adam Hoge reported it on the Hoge and Jahns podcast.
2. The clothing is different.
3. It's nearly a month later and he hasn't practiced since, which suggests that it was more significant than having the wind knocked out of him

Burden is considering retirement as a result of this injury.
I hear he's lost a limb. Or even more ridiculous, he simply got the wind knocked out of him and can't run a month later.

We all know he hasn’t practiced since the 11th and they said he has a soft tissue injury.

I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.

You said you played football at some level. Did you ever injure a hamstring or pull a groin muscle?

It takes a little time to let the injury heal.

I played some in college and also have completely tore a hamstring (was out a year from that one). It could be those things, for sure. But it also might not be, and when I suggested at the time when it happened that nobody stays down for 9-10 minutes after simply getting the wind knocked out of them, everybody acted like I had no idea what I was talking about.
