definitely

it is just weird of him to claim that TEN put peter at G because they were drafting a LT the draft after peters lol

like, TEN somehow has the foresight to know who they are drafting in the future and that dictated where they were playing peter in the present?! make it make sense lol
Imagine you dont want to admit you were wrong and go from there. Here's the current GM on this same topic:

"Carthon said, per Paul Kuharsky. "Yes, he came in, he was an All-American left tackle in college but — and we talked about this with Peter the other day — at this league, there are bigger, longer players and the length presents a problem now.""

I think he was a pretty good G in '24 but I dont watch a ton of Titans games so relying on PFF and their fan feedback for that.

Was gonna say, didn’t a lot of guys want him gone? I don’t get all the cunting over someone and then the tags trying to get him back.
It’s weird.

Same happens when our Lions troll finally tucks tail. People who complain about him beg him to come back.

Many have no interest in having a simple football discussion. They want a back-and-forth nonstop argument.

Could you or Andrew whitworth name an elite LT with a 77 inch wingspan and 32 5/8 - 33 inch arms? People can discredit the measurements if they want, but you should be able to point to examples in the NFL.

Seems like betting on a guy at 10 to overcome those physical limitations, a wonky stance, and a 72 PFF grade in college to turn into a cornerstone LT in the NFL is an awful bet to make. Said it before but he’s an inferior Peter Skoronski, and Skoronski is currently struggling at OG. I’d wager the titans are regretting their decision because that’s awful value.
Well to some HCs it simply does not matter, in that same interview McVey was talking about outliers like the guy on his who was to short, to light, and arms too short to play DT.............Aaron Donald. I think if Poles /Johnson takes him I will defer to them.

At this point I want to find one guy big johnson has talked negatively about. Swift was cheeks last season and I defend him a lot.

Still think if jeanty is there at #10 its going to be jeanty. Smart move would be DE, best case scenario would be membou but doubt he slips.
Jeanty will be gone by 10

Completely different situations. For one, Donald was WAY more dominant and a better college player than Campbell. Donald falling was mainly due to his height and weight, which was always stupid considering he was incredibly strong and actually had very long arms even for someone much taller than him. His arms are actually longer than campbell’s despite being 5 inches shorter.

He also absolutely crushed the combine. CRUSHED it. Campbell would be a complete outlier at LT because of his wingspan and arm length. Additionally, his tape isn’t even in the same universe as Donald’s college tape. If the bears picked Campbell at 10 I would absolutely hate the pick until proven otherwise, and question what the hell Poles and BJ are smoking. BJ is a smart guy, and based on Poles’ history, he absolutely values measurements and length for an OT. I’d be surprised and extremely disappointed if he were the pick.

I've learned not to engage him on this, but the Titans coach at the time of draft said they didnt have a specific position in mind for him. TEN ended up thinking his best position was G which is true, but that misses the other side of that coin which is "because they dont think he can be a decent OT". The Titans lost their starting LT, RT, and swing tackle for huge amount of time in '23 and had the worst OTs in the league, and never tried to play Skoronski at T even for a game to see what they had - you could maybe say "thats because they needed a G" but they did move their RG to OT for a few games due to injury so thats doesnt track either. Actions speak louder than words and TEN has told the league loud and clear what they think about Skoronski as a tackle.
Speculating makes things so much easier when trying to prove something doesn't it? LOL

By the way, i never tried saying Skoronski could play LT, just said they didn't draft him to play T which they proved. I have no idea if he can or can't. Nobody does.

Ummmm i never said that but twisting someone's words always helps when trying to make a point.

How was i wrong? Never said the guy could play LT, only said he was drafted to play G which is where they put him. He said there's longer and bigger players but still........they never tried him at LT to know whether he could or couldn't do it.

You seem to think you confirmed something that you didn't. LOL

He played LT in college but they drafted him to play a less important position despite having a need at LT

I think that says everything right there. Like, if he could play LT, he would be playing it still in the NFL like he did in college. Especially considering they clearly had a need at LT

I think that says something but not everything. Many thought he could play LT and because he never got that chance then we don't know. Maybe they didn't think he could play there or maybe they had other plans for LT and simply liked they he would be a great G and put him there and left him there. Maybe they were looking ahead and thought they could fill LT the following draft since they were building the team.

The fact that they drafted a LT early in the very next draft tells you they didn’t have anything worthwhile there already when they took Skoronski

I get what you're thinking but i think i just look at it a little different. Doesn't really matter because he's a G and still has alligator arms and we most likely will never get to see him get a shot at LT.
