The way I typically go about a Bears season is to come out of training camp hoping that we make the playoffs (There’s typically a surprise NFL team almost every season), then once we’re mathematically eliminated from the playoffs I switch my attention to individual player development (Caleb, Rome, etc) and individual player accomplishments (pro bowl, records broken, etc), hoping for no serious injuries, and future draft position. I don’t care about meaningless victories.

Good businessmen make money and that’s exactly what he’s been doing for decades. He’s a shitty owner from a fans perspective, but a great owner from a business perspective. Dude is raking in money hand over fist …fans know they’re getting shafted and they still show up to games.
If he was a good business man the white Sox wouldn't be a trash organization. He's not making money hand over fist there despite the Sox being the team he actually cares about.

He is lucky with the Bulls, any sports owner can make money.

So are you trying to tell me Hampton is equal or better talent to Jeanty?

Just want to get this in the record
Jeanty doesn't appear to have Jahmyr Gibbs speed so how exactly will a 5'8 211lb running back dominate the NFL? Who is his comp?

Hampton is better getting short yardage, a better receiver and a better pass protector. He has the same speed as Matt Forte, not electric but good enough to make long runs too.

I don't want either at #10. Trade back and I take Hampton late and pair him with Swift. That's a better rotation than Jeanty & Swift.

Are you sure about that? How do you know he’s not making money with the Sox. I was able to find this, but nothing specifically about how much profit he makes annually.

Reinsdorf purchased the White Sox for about $20 million in 1981, making him the second-longest active owner in MLB behind only the Steinbrenner family (owners of the New York Yankees). Today, they’re worth an estimated 2.05 billion. He owns roughly 19% of the team and his net worth is estimated to be 2.1 billion. He seems to be doing pretty good business from my perspective.

Well get the Fukk over it. Bears don’t have the 7th pick.
I better not read anything on CCS about you advocating for the Bears to trade up, or any whining about missing out on drafting a player 7, 8, or 9 🙃

#16. $2 billion

Chicago White Sox

He's owned the team since 1981 and they are in the 3rd largest market. Of course he makes money,

His team is #16 in value behind teams like the Mets Angels and Astros who are also in states with multiple teams, and lots of small market teams as well.

I'd be willing to bet the Sox would be even less valuable if not for the color and logo being popular.

He is a horrible owner and mediocre business man. He's just lucky Chicago is a huge sports town with dedicated fans.

The first two statements are highly and I mean highly debatable. Hampton looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane when there's any sort of backfield penetration. Similar to Matt Forte. He's not a make something out of nothing in the backfield type of back. Good in golline situations where he can push the pile. Jeanty is definitely a more natural hands catcher, which was really on display in 2023. And Hamptons 40 doesn't tell the who story, he tends to get caught from behind. By contrast someone like Derek Henry never gets caught from behind despite having a slower 40. Because he has a real 3rd gear that can only be measured in 60 meter dash.

The NFL should institute the 60 because it's a much better measurement of true long speed. Keep the 10 and 40 yard splits.

Nobody gives a shit about the bulls anymore

There has been no acceptance. We root for the team and players but if there was a way to force ownerships hand we would. It's no different than with the Bulls & Sox.
Nobody gives a shit about the Sox either.

To anyone cunting about beating the Packers in week 18, just pretend the Bears successfully defended the Hail Mary and beat the Commanders, and then went on an epic losing streak to close out the season and maximize their draft position. There, done. Same record, same draft position.

I wouldn’t call those people “losers”, I’d just say that we view certain things as more important than others, that’s all.

Even if you do whine, I’m not gonna go at you too hard because you turned me onto potential difference-makers OT Kelvin Banks Jr., G Donovan Jackson, and DT Tyliek Willams as potential draftees with our current positions.

I’m not going to whine. Not my style…
