Its smokescreen season but Ben really seems to love him « hes a football player ». I wanted Bowers last year and I would be happy with Warren. I think he would be a great toy for coach Ben offense.

I think Braxton Jones is about to have a career year. I’d still be for drafting his replacement in the first round. I don’t want to pay him a load of money and then watch him go soft.
Why do you think that?

It’s a contract year. He’s putting in extra work to come back strong.
He's been in a boot until a week ago. Where do you get the info he's "putting in extra work"?

Is it more work than last off season? If so, how? And how do you know?

My point is.....he's coming off an injury. He may have his best season. He may have similar to previous seasons. He may not be fully healthy when the season starts.

I’m with you. Also, if it could be validated that he’s putting in extra work, the Bears should still cover their asses.

After overhauling the IOL, they can’t leave LT to chance.

If they draft Tyler Warren it reeks of Poles all over. Basically a 1 year wonder who won't even work out for teams. Why would you ever take a TE with a top 10 pick unless you knew that they were really fast?

This next contract is going to be his highest paid. You’re right, injuries may derail him, but if he stays healthy, I think he has a great year.

If all these players just magically play so much better with a contract on the line, GMs should give everybody one year contracts.😄

Warren reeks of Poles, but not the HC that was speaking highly of him?

Deone walker has a spine fracture - pars defect resulting in spondylosis.

These fractures are chronic with pain that comes and goes. He can get to a point where the pain is 0 to minimal, but with the stress of playing football (especially at DL) he is probably going to have to play through pain his entire career.

He is not draftable in the top 4 rounds IMO.
Issue is that he said he was in a lot of pain and generally, the pain from that is not the actual fracture but an association to it. Dude will definitely see some MRIs before this draft.
Skattebo and Monty have the same 40 time. Monty had over 1k total yards each of the last 2 seasons and 25 total TDs over that span.
Other than slow and able to shed a block, they are different backs. Not a qualitative assessment but I don't think he goes in 2. Monty went in 3 in a weaker RB draft.

LT is our biggest need. We have healthy experienced vets starting at pretty much every other position. (Maybe not safety as Briskers brane worries me)

But until I see Braxton 100% healthy I will say this is need #1.
I don't disagree as an upgrade there is also viable though I'm not a Jones hater. Thing is, the staff have a VG understanding of the injury and where to expect him to be. They are also used to players going down and returning so may view this completely differently. That said, it's a nice place to upgrade as you can't have too good a LT and Jones will need real $ after this year.

I know he was dinged up a bit last year, but Montez says hi

I think he's saying he's seen timing and measurement issues at pro days in the past.

From what I've seen manyweather is generally pretty well respected similarly to Brandon thorn as far as OL evaluations. Of course that doesn't mean they won't say stupid things too
You can probably get 1/4" variance in arm length depending on if you just woke up or just finished doing the bench press. What I don't get is how with all the time and money spent doing this that they can't reliably identify the shoulder pivot point to make these more uniform.

I think it's a bit overrated anyway. If you're built with a collarbone that sets your shoulder pivot .5" more forward does a .25" shorter arm mean that much? Straight back vs arched etc, etc. Tape is still the best guide.

This thread is also a giant nothing burger. Johnson is speaking highly of every prospect.

We really dont know who they will pick at #10 and thats a good thing
