The Oilers did us a favor starting Smith. I was shocked by the decision... .905 and .920 seems pretty clear cut. We already chased this fool last time we played.

That Saad-Toews-Kubalik line though!!! The way they all thrive on loose puck and can all pass and finish a bit is why I was calling for it since week 1 when Saad-Kubalik were killing everyone with Kampf between them. They just work together. But **** if those two assists by Kubalik werent' fucking sensational. (nice dirty dig by Dach too on the first, everyone please watch this and realize the heart and intelligence of our 19 year old...if Stan earned his extension it was the balls to make the call on Dach, his strength will certainly come, and when it does...damn!!) Also...its good to see Toews overcome Keiths shinitis and elevate some goddamn pucks like the old days. Great set-ups...but Toews actually lifting a puck and placing an accurate laser brings back the good ole days.

This is awesome. The oilers look shell shocked and the Hawks are playing with nothing to lose. Punishing every single mistake and Smith is helpless.

Somehow we look like the faster team. WE got ourselves a skill battle and a fresh team with fresh legs. Age don't matter tonight.

(I bet the Oil too Silence...but this is about how my last 10 games have gone in that endeavor. Fucking weird soccer took away my sails, I'll be driving a cab to recover.)

Edit: (update)...and we finished Mike Smiths career, in all liklihood unless he stays to 40 as a back-up.

I love playoff hockey!

I know it kinda makes me a fair weather fan but I just don’t have the stamina for an entire 82 games anymore. Playoff hockey is so much fun.
