1) ok, again going off of WAR. he isnt worth 25 million dollars....just because your subjective non stat states his so called "wins" doesnt mean his actual worth is 25 million.

2) ok, theo wasnt on board....but he still signed him. He was also pimped by cashman when the yanks had zero interest in crawford, but wined and dined him to drive the price up and tho took the bait.

3) didnt you want dunn last year? wasnt he the guy who you thought was coming to the cubs? .......remember....the sig bet.

Okay, fine, don't use WAR. Use something else and tell me how much he is worth.

Yeah, Theo signed him because his boss John Henry told him to. Derp.

Yeah, I did want Dunn. But it looks like Jimbo was smart enough to stay away. Can't say the same for KW.

Are you dense? I'm not saying it is a good signing. I'm not saying he is going to be worth the money at all. I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying that the 7 years prior to signing the 7 year contract, he was worth the money he is receiving. That is all that I am saying. And if you think that that is a knock on Theo, you're wrong. Theo didn't want to sign that contract, Henry did and Henry is the one with the checkbook.

Now with that being said, I'm curious as to how much you think CC is worth. Please back your argument up with something.

You're not understanding what I am saying. I am saying that in the previous 7 years he was worth 142MM. Not that he was worth a 7 year 142 million dollar contract.

I was thinking that Theo was against, Henry was for. Looks like I was wrong.

either way, baseball has to stop with these large contracts for past performance. its killing the league.

The large contracts are more of a rarity than the norm. But it does skew competitiveness towards the guys who have more money.

I agree that some have had to settle persay, but I couldn't think of a bigger name like Fielder who had to settle on a deal.

I don't think Fielder will settle like Guerrero did a year ago with the Orioles.

I am not sure, but I believe brett is referring to the contract Vlad got from the Angels than Baltimore. He was one of if not the premier free agents that year, but due to the market correcting itself after the ARod deal, Vlad really had to settle for a pretty small deal comparatively.

i'll be surprised if fielder doesnt get some large deal...even if he resigns he may get a high per year amount

but ya those massive 5-10 year 120+(up to a rod and pujols) deals are exclusive for a few of the best...its not the norm

how is ISO iffy? It's pretty cut-and-dry. High ISO = High percentage of hits are XBH.

They are power hitters when they connect. It's how often they connect that causes me to think "iffy" I think it's fine that they decided to rank it by ISO but a lot of the players on that list have flaws that outweigh the reward of their power hitting.

Fair enough. I'd like to see a couple other stats/metrics included in some of these tables too.
