Yeah. The 1987 Twins and the 2006 Cardinals are examples of teams who probably had no business being in the postseason but won it all anyway. The best team doesn't win all the time. That's part of the randomness inherent to baseball.

I really don't understand what is so hard to grasp about this concept that the best teams don't always win a short series.

In most matchups the AL team will be the favorite, but the idea that it guarantees the AL a win is silly as we have seen the past couple of seasons.

Like when the A's lost two of three World Series. You could argue that the A's were much better than the Dodgers and Reds but sometimes the better team just plays like crap.

Or throws the World Series.

The Cubs are better at throwing World Series than the Sox are... we got away with it in 1918 so thee Sox gave it a try and got caught.

A player collapse is different than being flat out beaten by an agent. I'm sorry that Theo isn't KW. That doesn't mean that he sucks. Leave.

carl crawford was never worth that contract.

and your KW comment goes for adam dunn i take it? was adam dunn bad before he signed with the sox? wouldnt he be considered a collapse? i will take dunns contract over crawfords all day long by the way.

Leave? no. I like making you look like a fool everyday, its too easy.

no get back to making new "theoisms"

2011 Cardinals too... they got lucky that the team ahead of them was a major chokejob. They did get hot at the right time though, and having to come back from that deficit is part of the reason they went that far IMO.

sure they werent dominant in the regualr season, but they had the talent to make a run in the playoffs, the cubs dont have the talent to make the playoffs let alone make a run.....so there is a big difference.

How was crawford never worth that contract? He was worth an average of 5 wins the previous 7 seasons. That's 25MM/year that he was worth. So how is he not worth that contract?

Yes, my KW comment was directed at the Dunn signing. But you seem to forget that Theo wasn't on board with the signing of Crawford to that much money.

1) ok, again going off of WAR. he isnt worth 25 million dollars....just because your subjective non stat states his so called "wins" doesnt mean his actual worth is 25 million.

2) ok, theo wasnt on board....but he still signed him. He was also pimped by cashman when the yanks had zero interest in crawford, but wined and dined him to drive the price up and tho took the bait.

3) didnt you want dunn last year? wasnt he the guy who you thought was coming to the cubs? .......remember....the sig bet.
