He's like Ben Gordon Part Deux.

yep, yet I was attacked by several people on here before the bubble last year for mentioning coby isn’t a starting PG and that he cannot play a lick of defense

Eh, last year I would be okay with him starting at PG just for the experience and the team sucked. Even if Boylan was right and Coby was not a PG.

Much like many thought BG could play PG, though Paxson certainly drafted him to be a SG since they had Hinrich at PG. Though in the end, both ended up more like combo guards. BG could never run an offense though. Feel much the same is Coby and he'll go down the combo guard path, which he either has to accept a role as 6th man, or he'll be off the team at some point.

sure, last season let him start. I’m even fine if they decide to start him this season to give him every chance to develop. I’m just saying I highly doubt he ever becomes a legit starting PG on any sort of a decent team. He can score the ball and be a blur in transition, but yet despite his speed he’s always caught getting back in transition and will always be the “mouse in the house” on defense. his turnover to assist ratio looks like it’ll always be trash. Though, admittedly I was pleasantly surprised he had 7 assists on opening night. But, he did also have 3 turnovers, so the ratio is still nothing to get excited about

yes. And that’s a usable piece. Just have to find the rest of the pieces...most notably a starting PG
Well if we play defense like the opener every night, we'll be in a good position for a Top 5 pick again lol.

haha I’m fine with different combos. I just don’t think hockey like subs after a few minutes is good for a young player. I think young guys need 7-8 minute stretches at times to get into a groove on the court.
Stop trying to justify your NBA season pass with PW minutes. Lol

Or traded up for Doncic

The opportunities were there for this franchise.

I still think Lamar Ball may become FA and be a good fit for us, sliding White into his natural 6th man of the year volume bench scorer Jerry Stackhouse role.

I like Lonzo the best of them all. His shot is fucked up but I think long term it settles into a Jason Kidd keep you honest while being clutch effect.

He's still launching way too many. 2/9 in the opener while Ingram only took 7 3's.
He can't be shot jacking and needs to stick to his game, but he happens to bring atributes to guard play we don't have much of.

No doubt I've been critical of Laurie, but I do enjoy aggressive Laurie.

I also like Billy D calling up the first play of the game for him.

Anyone old enough in this thread to remember the elder Sabonis?

That dude was Dirk before Dirk was Dirk.

I remember him in the finals vs the Bulls.. I often wondered what if Sabonis dad played in his prime....

Dirk Comparison is solid great choice...

Jesus come on Wendell CAN WE GET A T.O COACH..................

Actually, you don't. Arvydas didn't come over until the 95-96 season. At 31. But as you mention, that dude in his prime.....

1992 Finals could have been a problem.
