Yea I can't believe those Infrareds are 11 years old already. The price tag is still on the box too - $119.99

Rockin my Last Shots today

I had those at one time too. Another pair that the sole eventually fell off. Seems to be a common thing with Jordans.

somebody told me the sole separation on js are a problem due to the carbon fiber shank plate absorbing a lot of heat (maybe from your foot or from the summer weather) and eventually degrading the glue over time.

i like the last shots for what they are, but aesthetically i just cant get with it. love what they represent of course.

That really sucks because when the sole starts coming off I eventually have to give up and throw them out. Otherwise I'd wear them until they fell off my feet. I figure if I'm gonna spend $130+ on a pair of shoes I'm going to get my money's worth out of them.

Although I do still have a pair of boots that I bought for $30 in 1996 and still wear them around. They used to be tan but now are mostly brown/black because I wear them when I'm doing yard work or know I'm going to be walking around in a lot of dirt or mud.

I've been a yearly Jordan purchaser since 94 and only had sole seperation on 2 pairs of Jordans. My OG Obsidians and the blk/red retros. Not sure what the hell happened there but I got em fixed.

Nike does have a policy that if the shoe comes apart due to quality issues they will either replace the shoe or give you a voucher. It lasts 2 years from purchase

here is an awesome thread on general sneaker maintenance:

Sole Collector | View topic - Ultimate Restoration/Cleaning Guide (READ FIRST)

there are some sole-swap tutorials in there, some of the re-gluing steps could be applied to your sole problems. if youre gonna end up throwing out the sneakers anyway, it wouldnt hurt if you gave some of these procedures a shot.

rubber cement, super glue, shoe goo, those all might help if you are careful and clamp the sole after.
