The Duke case was nothing like this case. This dude needs to be locked up. He's basically already admitted to it.
Where did he say that? Haven’t read much on this.

Wonder if one of those 9 offers was the Bears before signing Reif.
Pretty sure two punters went ahead of him.Yeah was thinking of the other punter that got drafted in 4th. Forgot he was not the first punter taken despite his Punt God status. I wonder now if any teams had a heads up as to the allegations as allegations were floating around SDSU since last October.
He admitted to the sex, but here is California law: Any person 21 years of age or older who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is under 16 years of age is guilty of either a misdemeanor or a felony. The Duke case was nothing like this case. Hopefully they get what they need to hang his fucking ass.
Trigger warning - details of allegations against Punt God
I think she was 17 so in California I guess it wasn't statutory. Hopefully they can get them for gang rape if it happened because no woman should ever have to fear that happening to them. How old was he at the time?
(I could figure it out but with a newborn AND quitting caffeine, I'm too fucking tired to figure it out)
Regardless, he's a piece of shit and needs to be banned from the league outside of whatever legal trouble he is in.
Even if she consented to it, is a 17yr old(probably under the influence) able to actually consider the consequences of that decision? She's surrounded by college guys and probably drunk or high.I think she was 17 so in California I guess it wasn't statutory. When I owned a bar, I never took home a girl from the bar. If they wanted to hangout, it was always a date or a meet up.

Edit: obviously that can't be right because it's simply rape if not
“(a) Unlawful sexual intercourse is an act of sexual intercourse accomplished with a person who is not the spouse of the perpetrator, if the person is a minor. For the purposes of this section, a “minor” is a person under the age of 18 years and an “adult” is a person who is at least 18 years of age. (b) Any person who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is not more than three years older or three years younger than the perpetrator, is guilty of a misdemeanor. (c) Any person who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is more than three years younger than the perpetrator is guilty of either a misdemeanor or a felony, and shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170. (d) Any person 21 years of age or older who engages in an act of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is under 16 years of age is guilty of either a misdemeanor or a felony, and shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170 for two, three, or four years.”
Just was reading a more detailed site and it appears what I had found was wrong. It is rape if, on your 18th birthday, you have sex with your girlfriend/boyfriend that is 17yrs 364days 23hrs 59 minutes and 59 seconds old. Thus the dude should already be in jail.Is that snippet above just about if it's consensual?

Where does it say that he can't be suspended for acts committed before he was drafted? He can't be suspended by the NFL as it occurred prior to joining the league. So any discipline would have to be from the Bills. Roger may call the Bills and encourage them to treat them like how Texans treated Watson last year and sit him with pay voluntarily until more clarity regarding his case is revealed.

He told her she should be tested for Chlamydia in a phone call that the police were listening in on.Where did he say that? Haven’t read much on this.

Well that was considerate of him. ?He told her she should be tested for Chlamydia in a phone call that the police were listening in on.
I remember saying this could happen a while ago, but some dudes gave me some heat over it. Looks like it’s happening. In two preseason games, Gipson has only one quarterback hit over 35 snaps against the Chiefs and Seahawks. The Bears will require much better than that if he’s going to be their starting defensive on the left side.
“(There’s) still plenty of room in my game that I can get better at,” Gipson said Sunday.
In pass-rush situations, Gipson has moved inside. It’s still a work in progress.
“I think I’m comfortable in my pass rush,” he said. “I think I can go inside and outside honestly. You know, do I have a preference? My preference is getting to the quarterback. So it doesn’t really matter whether it’s A gap, B gap, C gap coming off outside the tight end D gap or whatever the case may be. But I think I have some good strengths and I utilize my quickness when I do rush inside now. I think it could help.”
The next step would be some production.
This is interesting as Bears are stronger at DE than DT so having Gipson move inside to play 3T on passing downs makes sense if he can make that transition.
