Being glad at trading Olsen because he wasn't a blocker is not a take I ever expected to see here.

No, I was glad because Olsen had a better NFL career with the Panthers than he ever would have had with the Bears - so glad for him.

Eh he still could have had great numbers with the Bears. Catching passes from an inaccurate Newton might have had hurt his stats. No way to tell either way

Zero excuse to not be in the top 5. Imagine what a SB would do. I wish i remembered the name of the poster who credited Pace for the Bears increase in value.
Lol what????

I liked this but if a waste of space and you can get a 3, fuckit.
If we can get a 3rd I agree. That's a win.
Umm an OL has 5 players. You can't have 4 guys zone blocking and Jenkins power blocking. The line has to work together.

This is different than WR where regardless of scheme you can have a WR run routes suited to him.

For an OL zone blocking it doesnt work if one guy is doing something different than than the other. Now of course teams still run a mix but I would imagine Bears want to run outside size like 70-80% of the time at a minimum.

Right because Bears fans can figure out he is an asshole but other NFL teams can't.
You're thinking about that way too hard. I'm not suggesting Jenkins do his own thing in the line. I'm saying we've seen this before. Perhaps Olsen was not the best example. Versatility was something that Jenkins was praised for. I imagine someone that is versatile is capable of playing in multiple schemes. We drafted D.Manning to play Cover 3 and Cover 1. How many times was the dude out of position even though on paper he clearly was the most suited for it? I find it hard to believe a couple of weeks in that Jenkins is that poor of a scheme fit.

I'm sure his numbers would have been fine. But he didn't have to be on a team that went through several years of dysfunction.
