I would love this if Jones can get up to speed.

Also anyone complaining about the Jenkins pick is dealing with revisionist history. None of us knew his motivational issue were still a thing or this severe. You also have to assume he passed physicals. **** Pace.
Fans didn't know, but apparently multiple teams were aware that he is a bit soft

Whether you cut a player has **** all to do with resume. These guys have years and decades in their scheme and can assess whether a player fits it or not. They sign and cut players based on that no matter whether they are a first year coach or a 10th year coach.

This is an outside zone team. Jenkins may simply not be a good fit for an outside zone team. Poles clearly has a specific type of OL he is targeting. He has explained this quite clearly.
You are literally repeated what people say when every new GMs come in and make cuts they have no business making. Awesome. You have 100% faith in a brand new regime. First year GM, first year coach and you have 100% faith in their ability to make these calls. Great. I don't and many others don't. We've seen it before. Oline is a position of weakness, so to cut from that absolutely has many scratching their heads. This isn't some 7th round pick. Jenkins had a 1st round grade by many experts.

What's exciting about Jenkins is the versatility he brings to the Bears' offense. With his physical profile, the Bears can run a variety of different run schemes and do so successfully with Jenkins leading the way. Outside zone, inside zone, or power gap, Jenkins can do it all. If the Bears want to run a pass-first offense, however, Jenkins will be successful there as well. To add another bonus to the mix, while Jenkins primarily played at right tackle in college, he has the ability to play either tackle spot which gives the Bears options as they reshuffle their offensive line.

On Jenkins' versatility and overall game, general manager Ryan Pace said, "We feel that his best fit is at either tackle spot for us and really just describing the player for you guys, a powerful tackle, you know he can bend, he can play with leverage, he consistently moves guys out in the run game, which is awesome to see. Beyond that, he’s got the athletic ability to get to the second level and block in space. In pass pro, a really good anchor so he handles power really well. And then of course he plays with a lot of toughness and finish. We went into this draft looking for that trait and he definitely has that trait, that toughness, that nasty style of play. We’re excited about this addition"

That's not a rare article. Articles like that are all over the place.

Many on here trusted Pace 100% very early on. You're suggesting trust Poles 100% very early on. How about we pump the breaks and once they prove something, we give them the benefit of the doubt.

With all that said, his college coaches interview is very concerning. Teams took him off their board allegedly due to this. He kept bringing up "when he wants to" or something along those lines. That screams motivation and entitlement issues. All the versatility and talent in the world may not matter if the young man isn't motivated.

I was hoping pads would help him. You know, tell the DEs to try and wreck him and see if it lights him up.
Maybe he needs to try heavy flow maxi?
