When DC's Pussy Galore broke up in the late 80s, Jon Spencer formed The Jon Spencer's Blues Explosion, Neil Hagerty started Royal Trux, featuring Jennifer Herrera on lead vocals. Imagine a junky stripper spouting surreal non sequiturs interspersed with insane sci-fi gibberish and a junky guitar virtuoso, channeling Mick and Keith, Respectively. A glorious rock & roll train wreck! One of my fave band from the 90s.

Gram & Keith Jamming. Gram was so fucked up on drugs, the legend is that Keith ripped off Wild Horses from him, or that Parsons at the least should have received a songwriter's credit on the tune. Many of these photos are Gram hanging out with the Stones during the making of Exile on Main Street, my fave Stones album.

Very nice. In the right circles...that T-Shirt would be treated like the Shroud of Turin.

The other half of the Pussy Galore break-up, Jon Spencer's Blue Explosion. Saw them live in Lawrence Kansas in the late 90s. Probably the most high energy show i've ever attended.
