I have another suggestion. Anyone ever heard of the Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey? It's sort of a girly sci-fi(****, I sound like a ******) series but I think they are excellent books

Finished the Idiot last night, now I'm 1/2th through this one.

Excellent book as well, like any Rothbard book.
I love Rothbard. Tom Woods has written some good books.

Just finished: The Transmigration of Timothy Archer

It's often sad to finish reading an authors entire catalog, especially when he died before the whole story was finished in a particular series. But I wouldn't hesitate in recommending at least 1/4 of PKD's work. He has some utter crap too, but Timothy Archer is maybe his 3rd best work IMO and the best book of the VALIS storyline.

I just finished "Boots on the Ground by Dusk". It's the story of Pat Tillman, the Arizona Cardinals safety that joined the army rangers after 9/11. It's really good, I highly recommend it

The documentary is a riveting watch too.

This Changes Everything by Naomi Klein

Climate change may be the most important issue of this (or any) generation, but I have found it impossible to read up on it without glazing over after a paragraph or two. Klein's book however is highly readable in addition to being smart as hell. It's actually hard to put down.

I just started listening to "World Without Cancer" by G Edward Griffin. The premise behind the book is that cancer is caused by a vitamin deficiency, not whatever the health industry and the national cancer institute thinks causes it. So far there are some very compelling arguments and some pretty strong evidence to support his case. It's not so much an argument for supplementation as a cure but a way for a vast majority of people to not ever get cancer in the first place

I totally agree with fucked up but not really so much about incompetent.

A very interesting book about the cia, in kind of a roundabout way, is Dark Alliance by Gary Webb. That book is about the role the dea, cia, & certain public officials played in cocaine trafficking and the Iran-Contra scandal

Another book I plan on reading is "The Brothers" by Stephen Kinzer. It's about the Dulles brothers who started the cia

Yeah, jff and allen basically had billions of dollars as their sandbox. I will insist the cia was incompetent, though. Allen dulles's hard-on for covert ops and regime change ended up being responsible for a lot of murderous dictatorships

Po-tay-toe, to-mah-toe. They were pieces of shit for sure. I think they were doing everything on purpose at the request of big business. As long gone as the underlying message is that the cia is a corrupt and horrifying entity I won't argue details

Starting to re-read the Dark Tower series
LOVE.

I re-read Salems Lot during October every year lol

I'm waiting on the last part of the trilogy of 'The Passage'. I feel many of you guys would love it. Think of The Stand meets I am Legend. It's amazing.

I finished up a book about Al Capone recently. Really dug that. I didn't know how big Chicago Heights was at one point. A downtown and everything!? Woah. Driving through there now, it's a shithole lol
