Pistons really want Rondo. I'm guessing they would want Drummond in return which wouldn't happen. The owner of the place I work at is from the area and is a Piston fan and he brought up something I thought was interesting, does the Smith signing make Monroe expendable? I'm sure the Celtics would look at a Rondo for Monroe deal, not sure the Pistons would offer it.

Absolutely not. I'd much rather have Monroe than Smith. I really don't see how Smith is going to mesh with him and Drummond, unless the Pistons are intending to once again use Drummond off the bench.

That's why he said something about it because we were talking about the floor spacing. There will be none but at the same time the defense would be pretty stout. Maybe they are just trying to bring Drummond along slowly since he's not even 20 years old yet.

Last time I saw Gooden he could play a bit for a backup. Has not seen a lot of action lately. Bulls won't get first crack at him, but I he might be a decent 4/5th big off the bench.

Drew Gooden can't count to 3 -- he doesn't even have the right to sit on an NBA bench anymore, let alone see the floor.

Mike Miller was also amnestied yesterday evening. Must've been an ownership decision, because Pat Riley seemed quite adamant that he wasn't toying with the roster.

Good sign for the Bulls. It means the Heat are making moves for money reasons. I am not saying the Heat will let one of the "big 3" walk or trade them, but this at least points to the possibility of it happening.

Maybe the Bulls won't have to beat the Heat. They may just have to wait for the owner to decide money is more important than rings.

Our owner has basically decided this already so perhaps we've lost before we've even started.

If that's the case then how do you explain the team paying the luxury tax this year and most likely doing so again this season?

The tax has been around for a bit and they went into one time so far. They did not even go far into it. The Lakers were about 30 million over. Going 3 million over the tax is not something to get excited about. When the Bulls go 10+ million over the tax I will take notice.

Lebron likely not playing for USA basketball from here on out unless "his country absolutely needs him." Also likely done are Kobe, Wade, Bosh, and CP3.
Durant named the future face of USA basketball. He and Kevin Love confirmed for 2014 World Cup team with Westbrook, Harden, Irving, and Paul George likely to be on that team as well.
