i made a correlation between the way you bash day but give virtually little to no blame to eberflus or brown

sorry that has you in your feels yesterday, this morning, tomorrow, etc...

Correct you went off topic because of previous hurt feelings. This thread is about college football not my thoughts on Flus or Brown. There are plenty of threads that discuss both.

If I bring up something non college football related here or start talking about our past debates unprompted then feel free to call me out on it.

Bellichek is done in the NFL but college is a different animal. More likely that high school and college players will be awed by his accomplishments to buy into his heavy handed approach and he is still a good teacher. Could also be a disaster. Time will tell.

This is not going to end well.
I fully expect it to end in disaster as no one has gotten the football program to be a consistent winner since Mack's first stint. But as an alumni don't think there was anyone else we could get that would have the potential to turn things around in the way he can if all goes well.

ummm sure, believe that if you wish. i think it is more likely to work against him. what high school kid wants to get grilled and abused by some 80 year old that is more likely to steal their high school gf than win anything of note in the college game?

kids are going to still turn UNC down for the georgias, tennessees, and clemsons of the world.

i actually think UNC would have been better served trying to find a young college coordinator to come in and try and build that program up

Bill is just doing this for his son hence why he had the coach in-waiting agreement in his contract. He’ll be in the NFL asap if another team comes calling

Entirely possible it does work against him hence why I said it could be a disaster and time will tell. For now I will be optimistic and see how it plays out. There is zero benefit to being pessimistic at this point.

That report about his son hasnt been confirmed yet but I am sure he would bolt if the NFL came calling. However, he probably needs to have some level of success at UNC for that to happen given no one in the NFL has called thus far.

According to sources with direct knowledge, the group deemed that the Chicago Bears were probably the most attractive job, but that team brass was unlikely to consider Belichick. The group expects the same thing that most around the league do: that the Bears will go offense, hoping to give quarterback Caleb Williams a chance at a career, probably targeting Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

What became known as the Patriot Way was rooted in more than mutual sacrifice and mastery of situational football, ruthless decision-making and Brady's greatness. It was about teaching and education. Only Belichick's Patriots had full-team meetings in which players were quizzed not only on the opponent's statistics and playmakers, but the résumés of all of the assistant coaches. It was a football laboratory, augmented by some of the greatest players in NFL history.

The fluff pieces have started but some interesting tidbits.

Nothing to do with being right or wrong. I dont care to make predictions and am willing to see how things play out.

You outlook is for sure pessimistic but sometines pessimism is the most realistic outcome. It still doesnt benefit me so again I chose to be optimisitc. You are free to chose realism. To each his own.

That isnt a prediction. I posted an entire article in which sources close to him claimed he was done with the NFL so that is his current reality. I then said to @bamainatlanta that I am sure he would return to the NFL if they came calling.

He’s just doing this to get his son a head coaching gig because no one else would even consider it.
