He made some pretty questionable calls. I wish the guy well but it was pretty obvious he was in over his head and had never been on a big stage before. He may have a history of winning, but when you’re coaching the Elon football team, you’re not exactly facing world-beaters. But like I said, I wish him success.
Most of his players were JMU but I feel like this year's JMU squad would've played better last night.

He basically said about himself what you said. He'll learn from it. I don't think IU is a one off because of his track record.

No one has said anything about teams with 3-4 losses. You're arguing over something that isn't even an issue

SMU jumped 3 loss Bama so if you remove them and/or IU then you are replacing them with 3 loss teams like Bama, SC or Ole Miss.

I think that there is an overreaction here to the playoff system. We've played a couple of games and so far the better team won, and I'll add the home team and team with much more college football big game experience.

I do not like what the transfer Portal is doing to football, but the one thing it has done was spread the talent out a bit. The SEC is still fantastic, but in my opinion, is less far ahead of other divisions than prior years. I've seen all the top teams struggle and sometimes lose to "lesser opponents".

In any playoff system it is common to have blowouts in the first round. So be it. Let's let more than 2 games go by before judging.

You are saying SMU doesnt belong but if you remove them then they would have been replaced with 3 loss Bama so it is an issue.

So if we agree no 3 loss team should make it then the SMUs of the world will get in.

Is there a point to any of what you are saying? Yeah, just like you said, this year if you took out SMU and Indiana you might have a 3 loss team make it. Is this more of your hypothetical nonsense?

I never said anything like that. So again, you're arguing with yourself about an issue that doesn't exist.

Congrats. I parlayed Penn, Texas over, but have Ohio State in 3rd leg. The line was telling me to take Ohio State, and my bet is small. I bet them individually as well. I am fine with Tennessee winning for you!!

You said the following.
I mean, it is considering they can leave conferences now. It's pretty unfair to teams that play legit competition.
Edgelord comment. SEC & Big Ten are where the comp is, it's dumb to not go there.

If we applied this logic then SMU and Indiana are out and 3 loss teams from the SEC like Bama, SC or Ole Miss are in. So it is the logical consequence of your position here.

No one forced Texas or Texas A&M to join the SEC or forced the SEC to accept them. So if that means teams like Bama, Ole Miss and SC get left out then tough shit.

Try to follow along. The point is it is stupid to put all the good teams in the same conference if the end result is they are going to cry when they cant make the college playoff with 3 losses or if fans are going to cry about how unfair.

You're grasping so hard at straws right now. TL said it wasn't their fault their conference didn't have comp. I said it was, because they can go to another conference. They can literally create the comp if they chose such. I never said anything about them not belonging in the playoff. My only mention of SMU/Indiana was how their no shows this year might affect ranking such teams in the future.

He said that as a means of saying they shouldnt be left out of the playoff. You then said it was unfair for those in a tough conference which does suggest you are saying 3 loss teams in tougher conferences should get in.

But if you arent saying that then cool. So tough shit if you are in a tough conference. Shut up and win.

I don’t know but this system still needs some fine tuning.
I said it should be 8 teams not 12. Or maybe 9 teams with a play-in game for 8/9.

And Penn St. AT Boise St. is a head scratcher. And Texas AT ASU is a head scratcher.

Needs work. Definitely some fine tuning needed.

There's never been 12 teams in college football worth a playoff spot.

Well this game is looking like a blowout. Tennessee is not a team built for come from behind victories against good teams.

Said it a few weeks ago. Should have just left it alone at 4. At best you could maybe justify 6 teams with top 2 getting 1st round bye.
