The sec just getting smacked around this year sucks everyone can buy players now like the sec has been doing for years while the ncaa looks the other way. It aint no fun when the rabbit has the gun is it
they aint getting smacked around, but okay sure. just goes to show how superior the SEC has been to where everyone is claiming they are getting smacked around whilst having a winning bowl record still

like i said, the gap has narrowed and congrats to the big10 for that...but the SEC is still the premier conference

He used to wear a fanny pack with a bunch of cash in it back in the day. A former boss of mine was a regional manager at Sports Authority(remember that?) and Deion would show up and always buy fishing poles & gear. He finally asked him why he was always buying fishing gear and Deion told him he would give it to the neighborhood kids and encourage them to go fishing
That’s really cool. It’s always nice to hear people who have a lot give back to others. In his prime, he’s definitely in the list of one of the best athletes. 2-sport guy who played both at a very high level.

If you notice, so far, those teams that had a bye in the playoffs are currently 0-3. Apparently the reason this has happened is that players from Boise State, Oregon, and Arizona State had to take their final exams last week, while players from Penn State, Texas, and Ohio State were exempt.

Aren't Ohio State players always exempt from taking final exams?

Not at all. They have volunteers from the student body who take the exams for them.
That can’t be true. There’s nobody in that student body who could pass an exam, athlete, or not.

I do remember Ohio State always being one step ahead of NCAA investigators. The best was when they claimed the football players were given unrecorded oral exams, and they all passed. Good stuff.

Yeah, this was way back in the day. Terry Pendleton gave us his autograph as well. Also a super nice dude.
When I think of baseball players from 85-95, it takes me 4 people before I get to Pendleton.

I remember him winning MVP one year with some Kirk Gibson like numbers. My favorite player was Mark Lemke. Very clutch hitter. I figure those Braves teams could have won more World Series if they didn't have Charlie Leibrandt on their staff
