Robin Ventura

LOL. He's not a WAR leader. I'm not sure his record is that good either. ;)

EDIT: I had to look it up. He's 54 under. So with Rollins playing SS, I see the White Sox at 108-54 this year making Robin at .500 for his career.

You mean I'm supposed to sleep every 18 hours instead of be up for 3 straight days? That's crazy talk.

I'll throw a second question out there while we await the first.

Current Open Question #2. We salute this WAR leader for his year of military service during his career. He is?

Ted Williams

As great as this franchise WAR leader is, he's 91 games under .500 never finishing higher than 4th as a manager. He is?

I'm going to guess Frank Robinson but I kind of remember him having a couple of pretty good seasons as a manager...but never being higher than 4th....Im probably wrong on this one.

He is not the answer to that question. Good solid guess.

You wouldn't be saying that if you knew the first thing that popped into my head. I'll always remember Kenny Holtzman pitching for the Cubs only on weekends because of his service commitment. I think one year he was 11-0 doing that.

Not The Big Train. He was over .500 on his managerial career as well as finishing as high as second with his team.

Extra clue: Never play with unfinished wood.

good catch! So I have two questions out there ready for you to answer.
Don't know them. I don't pay attention to WAR leaders in this context, so I would have to look up answers.

I never game an extra clue on this one. So let's do that now. He's arguably the most overlooked all time superstar in baseball. He played mostly in the 40s and 50s

Pee Wee Reese? I know he was a Navy man (I had an uncle that served with him)and I'd say overlooked. Not sure if he's the Dodgers WAR leader or not, but he could be.
