Campbell had 31 points on the PP. The Hawks entire defense had 34 points on the PP.

A shame he was making the coin he was, because this trade was fucking horrid.

Considering all the unused cap space. :obama::turrible:

I said that when they traded him the trade was going to hurt the team

Ah yes. Hindsight's 20-20

Hopefully we have enough space for Ryan Suter.

Of course losing Brian Campbell was going to hurt. While he wasn't worth 7Mil he was still a quality defenseman and everyone knew that. Unfortunately, this thing called the salary cap is actually a real thing and a move had to be made.

Leddy should be better next year with another season under his belt.

He needs to get A LOT stronger.

It felt like anytime he got the puck in the Hawks end, Phoenix jumped right on him and had no problem taking him off the puck... particularly along the boards or even worse- behind the net.

I agree with you, but I just don't see him bulking up. Hopefully I am wrong and he does. I think he develops as a smarter player from his experiences with the squad.

I don't think anyone wanted Campbell to go, everyone knew he was great. It just came down to the simple fact of money and he was making too much of it. The real problem is that we got absolutely nothing for him.

That trade wasn't as much about acquiring talent as it was about freeing up cap space.

And if you don't think anyone wanted to see Campbell go, you must not have heard all the jackasses booing Campbell when he played in Chicago this year.

There were a ton of people calling for him to leave town. Those are the same people that are now calling for Patrick Kane to be traded. They're morons.

I was one of the morons who was okay with him leaving town. He was miserable defending in his own zone. Some of you are pointing to his PP stats forgetting that his PP time had dwindled down to so little here and they still had the 4th best PP in the league. That's not 7+ mil worthy.

I'm a moron because I want a great return for an elite player :dealwithit:

Yeah, though him and Meatball complimented each other well last year. But I don't think anyone would be yearning for him if the Hawks had filled his shoes with something other than crap.

Elite player? Eh ... not so much. Very good, sure. Not elite. And I'm a HUGE Campbell fan. But you're going to have a hard time finding a decent return on a player who's making $7+ million and isn't one of the best in the league at his position.

I'll disagree with that. But the "moron" label is more for the people who insist on booing Campbell.

I don't disagree. Also disappointing is the lack of progression in Meatball's game.
