^ I agree...

It's easy to look at who we lost, see a defenseman known for offense and proclaim him to be the problem with the PP

its more than that...

technique
no size to play dump and chase
putting a forward on the point to make the defenseman less willing to attack

thats what I see anyway...

:yep: Still too easy to play against.

I don't understand what the obsession with this is. Some really talented forwards that have great slapshots (Ovechkin and Malkin come to mind) are good on the point because they can get the puck to the net and even score.

But I've never thought Sharp's slapper was all that great. His best spot on the power play is in the slot, about 20-30 feet out, ripping wristers at the not. He's just not effective from 50-60 feet out.

Ive never really understood it either especially on this team who kept trying to do the back door pass...we should have had 2 defenseman peppering shots on the goalie

problem with that is that we had no size to be in front of the net

While we're on the subject of not understanding, I don't understand why some people cannot let BC go. He's gone. Move on.

I'll admit being guilty of this, but I'm going to stop doing that.

I really don't want the 2010 Hawks to turn into the 1985 Bears. I don't want every player that breaks into the lineup to draw comments like, "Yeah, he's good, but he's no Versteeg." It's fucking obnoxious with football, and I'd hate to see that happen with the Hawks.
