The Cowboys have lived on primetime this year and he's looked atrocious. Like a completely different player than when he was on his rookie contract. Fact is everyone has this problem with veteran contracts, some guys get paid and just stop caring.

Its going to take more time than there is left in the season for him to get back in shape. Maybe you sign him and stash him for 2022? That's an interesting gamble. But honestly, the guys the Bears have on the practice squad are probably going to contribute more for this season than he will. Guy is probably cooked.

His injury was thought to be degenerative even if you did make a full recovery, which he obviously did. So his shelf life was always going to be shorter.
